Fabulous Smelo or Luc Longley. Can't lose, either way.

Left out Iverson who may play overseas?

Bottom line:  C's don't have a legit starting center now.
Which is why I couldn't vote...nobody wasn't an option.

I have no idea who Danny envisions as the starting center for next year. My guess is that whoever it is isn't on the roster yet.

I'm a bit undersized at 5'10 but I'll take the vet min.

I work super hard. I'll learn the schemes and everything.

I play with the old guys at my local court and they can testify that I'm pretty good.

If Evans can get the sort of contract he's getting, I think you could get more than the vet min.

I guess they'll be paying me for my potential. I could still grow...a foot...maybe.

Not that the folks here are particularly enamoured with small ball, but the We Believe Warriors beat a 67-15 Dallas team with then 20 year old stiff Andris Beidriens at the 5.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I agree--the starting center likely isn't here yet.  But I wouldn't count out Iverson making it to first backup by the year's end.  Just turned 24, already a big body, and here's a nice story and some highlights:

I really think this was Danny's best draft since before the KG era.

Yeah, i agree with those saying Humphries/Sullinger. If we can't get a starting 5 we will pick up a Jason Collins type post D specialist for big centers and start 2 4's.

I can't stand Humphries, but he's mean, 6-9 and can board.

How is Melo leading this vote?  Melo is awful.  Any one else listed up there will start at center before Melo.  Now maybe by the end of the year, Melo might actually start to look like a backup NBA center, but right now I think there really are only 2 options: Humphries and Olynyk.  I'd personally go with Humphries, who is a veteran expiring contract, and thus could have a lot of value if he plays well.  Start him 30 minutes a night and see what you get from him and hope he plays well enough to get real value (not just expiring contract value) at the deadline.  By then hopefully Olynyk has developed enough to start and Melo has developed enough to back him up.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Wouldn't be surprised if melo started out at center due to seniority and then quickly shuttled to the bench after a few games
