I just dont see Love as being the "it" factor guy to build around. He puts up ridiculous number on a mediocre TWolves team but I dont see him having the leader ship or will to be the number one option on a championship contender.

It would like we need this player:

1. __________________

While Kevin Love and Rondo ranked:
2a. Rondo
2b. Love

Still need that one guy you can build the whole franchise around.

1. Gave up on his team.
2. Publicly belittled his team.
3. Not the superstar type that will rise to opportunity.
4. Is a big man, thinks he is a shooting guard.
5. Complete opposite of KG.

I would take Josh Smith or Al Jefferson over Kevin Love in a heartbeat.

Love is one of the most overrated players in the NBA.  His only standout skill is rebounding, that's it.  He's garbage as an inside scorer, he's a dramatically overrated shooter and he can't play defense to see his life.  Plus he is undersized and lacks athleticism.

If I had to go for an unarhletic big that doesn't last defence it's much rather Jefferson, who actually has an ability to score in the paint, block the occasional shot and play center.

I'd rather Smith above both for his athleticism and versatility, which I think compliments Rondo's skill set will.

Uh, are we forgetting that in Love's two full years as a starter, he's been an incredibly good 3 point shooter? How's that not a stand out skill? And who the heck cares if he's undersized if he's the best rebounder in the league? What?

Quote
Personally I'd much rather hold on to Sully on his rookie contract, since he has all of the skill set love has with the added bonus of being a Better defender and inside scorer,.

This is actually fairly ridiculous on many levels. Sullinger may be a better defender, but that's about it. Love, in his rookie, had literally almost twice the rebounding rate of Sully. That's not the same skill set. That's one person dwarfing another.

Also, I'm not seeing the argument for Jefferson, considering Love is...well better on both ends of the ball. Love is a more efficient scorer, a much better rebounder,  better passer...

Jefferson is a better shot locker, but overall, both are poor defensively.

Love is a top-10 guy in the league when healthy. He's had mostly garbage around him in Minnesota and still has managed to play some real efficient ball. You don't do that by accident. Jefferson, at his peak, is maybe top 20.

1. Please show me where.
2. "Publicly belittled his team" - criticized his front office to the press because they wouldn't give him a longer extension, in spite of the fact that he's the team's best player by far and put up astronomical numbers. Also apologized afterwards to his team if I'm not mistaken.
3. Completely subjective. What is "the superstar type"? What is "rising to the opportunity?"
4. He's a big man who is the best rebounder in the league. If his ability to hit 3's at a high clip is him thinking he's a shooting guard....I'm not sure what the criticism of this is. We could play this game with Paul Pierce. Paul is a small forward. He thinks he's Dwight Howard though, because he is an excellent rebounder.
5. He is only the opposite of KG in that he doesn't play good defense. Everything else is actually strikingly similar. (Love also doesn't have the passing skills that KG has.)

I like Kevin Love and used to be a big supporter of him being on the Cs but I wanna see Sullinger develop more. I've become more interested in seeing what type of player Sully can be, if he can fit in the big three mold of players for instance, than simply making him a tradeable asset.
