Agree with vinnie and BC here D.o.S.

There have been numerous bloggers definitely stating Rondo would be out half the year or more. While the chance does exist he will miss time during the season, all reports are that he won't and shouldn't. That's all I think BC is saying after seeing the "Rondo will be out half a season or more" as fact.

Right on. No disrespect felt or intended on this end, just qualifying the idea that he might miss significant time.

who broke this? and why is it news? he was never expected to miss half a season.

Must be a slow news day.

Bud broke it and its a bogus "breaking story."

How crazy would it be to rush your best player back from an acl injury when you are obviously in a transition year?

... And we are still waiting to see if rose ever returns.

Hopefully ainge pulls off a miracle trade and this stops being our problem

I heard something on the news about a guy who died from complications from having his wisdom teeth pulled. I'll expect you to start talking about Rondo having a possible career-ending teeth cleaning the next time he goes to the dentist.

Are you somehow of the opinion that people never have successful knee surgery and always end up like Redd, or do you just think that's what happens to most athletes?
He's just spouting the same old Rondo will be out over a year thing because it doesn't support his tankapalooza needs. He's been given links countering his Rondo injury theory at length and just refuses to listen to them BBall.
Nick... I would LOVE for you to be right about Rondo making a 100% full recovery.  That's be phenomenal.  I hope the concerns are completely overblown and it's a total lock that he comes back healthy.  In-fact, I hope every team in the league sees Rondo as a "playoff superstar" who tore up in the 2012 playoffs... and not a difficult veteran with a torn ACL.  That would be fantastic... because that means Ainge should have no trouble trading him in a couple weeks.

I'd really hate for us to sell low on Rondo.  I at least want a future 1st for him.

Yes, because the odds of that future first turning into a player who can give you what Rondo normally does in the playoffs when he's healthy are pretty low. You're the kind of guy who would pay a ten dollars for a chance to spin a wheel for a 1 in 3 chance to win $5. Not only that, you'd brag about it.

I almost got banned for implying a 4 letter word and you start..START a thread with the word "Breaking:" and it's actually not a news item at all but an opinion ???

I'm the only person who thought there was news and a link in here apparently.

This kinda stuff ....no offense and don't wanna get banned or see anyone banned but a Mod should use this as an example of baiting.

fully agree.

That's the divide, though, over "what Rondo normally gives you in the playoffs when he's healthy" actually constitutes, not to mention the worrying pair of qualifiers in that statement.

I would say that "what Rondo normally gives you in the playoffs when he's motivated and healthy" is pretty special. Of that there is no doubt.

So the question then becomes whether you move him for a chance at a player who could be one of the NBA's next superstars.

I wouldn't, I like his game too much, but if you were all hung up on championships, you'd have to at least consider the possibility.

The Rondo era is over. He just won't be able to carry a weak team. I predict DA will unload him eventually.

I would not. Why?

Because we have a ton of assets already to use to land this Superstar.

Fact is, if we move him we might get a better chance of drafting the next big name. But eventually we'll have to find some help for this guy. We already have an All Star PG (who's considered elite in his position BTW), still in his prime and will be for the next 3-4 years. The transition from sucking to winning would be easy.

And that is we land the superstar. What if we move Rondo and we get unlucky and not get the opportunity to draft this future franchise star? Our rebuilding will take even more longer. We can miss out on a superstar, get some very good talent instead and we can still contend faster because we already have an established star to add along the coming crop of talents.

Compare that to only having one Superstar, and will need a few if not a bit more years to find him help.

Because just like Nick said, Rondo is the biggest obstacle in this tanking agenda.

The more Rondo does not play, or the faster Rondo gets moved, the more they'll be elated because they think getting assets for Rondo will assure a Superstar return.

If that happens, boy I hope they are right, because if not we're going to dig a hole we won't be able to get out for a looooooooooooooooooooooong time.

Rose is a sissy little girl and always had been.

Rondo has a history of paying through immense pain of he needs to.
