... And we are still waiting to see if rose ever returns.

Hopefully ainge pulls off a miracle trade and this stops being our problem

I heard something on the news about a guy who died from complications from having his wisdom teeth pulled. I'll expect you to start talking about Rondo having a possible career-ending teeth cleaning the next time he goes to the dentist.

Are you somehow of the opinion that people never have successful knee surgery and always end up like Redd, or do you just think that's what happens to most athletes?
He's just spouting the same old Rondo will be out over a year thing because it doesn't support his tankapalooza needs. He's been given links countering his Rondo injury theory at length and just refuses to listen to them BBall.

I've seen games where Pierce has had his front teeth knocked in at least twice.  You bring up an excellent point... I'm actually happy we finally traded Pierce... the possibility of him accidentally choking on his false teeth mid-game has always been a major concern of mine.

Nick... I would LOVE for you to be right about Rondo making a 100% full recovery.  That's be phenomenal.  I hope the concerns are completely overblown and it's a total lock that he comes back healthy.  In-fact, I hope every team in the league sees Rondo as a "playoff superstar" who tore up in the 2012 playoffs... and not a difficult veteran with a torn ACL.  That would be fantastic... because that means Ainge should have no trouble trading him in a couple weeks.

I'd really hate for us to sell low on Rondo.  I at least want a future 1st for him.

It is crazy how far Noel slipped in the draft due to his ACL injury... he was widely believed to be the only potential allstar in the entire draft.  Hopefully Rondo's ACL doesn't impact his trade value the same way Noel's ACL injury impacted his draft stock.

Only Rondo and the people around him have any idea when he will come back.

Every one comes back differently. Peterson is a freak of nature to come back ad play so well. Then the other end Redd with bad training killed his career.

Rondo said he wouldn't come back until he was 100% ready and not going to rush anything. Yeah that might push Oct, to Nov/Dec. Even if he takes the full year, thats up to him and the trainers.

Bottom line, if Rondo misses half the year, but plays out the rest of career Im good. If he comes back at training camp time and blows it out by X-mass, that would suck.

So until reports come out with time tables Im going to have to say he will be back when he gets back. And wont complain about it, because knowing this guy and how much he will go threw to play. He wont sit out because he's scared and it hurts a little. If he's sitting out, its because he's just not ready. I mean he played on a torn ACL for part of a game and then tried to go on it. Most people don't even get back up after they tear it...

Come on thought this was legit as in a quote Ainge stating when Rondos back.

Well played sir. TP. :D

Still, I am right because if Danny doesn't trade Rondo, a healthy Rondo would throw a huge wrench into your enjoyment of watching tankapalooza next year. ;)

Come on thought this was legit as in a quote Ainge stating when Rondos back.

Here, how's this for legit from a few weeks ago:

http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2013/06/rajon_rondo_injury_danny_ainge.html

"Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has similar goals as he continues rehabilitation from a partially torn ACL, according to president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. Ainge told the Boston Herald that the recovery is going well, but "it's way too early" for specific timetables. The front office executive has previously predicted that Rondo will make it back in time for training camp.

"He was doing his rehab in Louisville, and then he went back down to Florida to work with Dr. (James) Andrews for a while," Ainge told the Herald. "Rajon is looking good. We’ve mostly been texting lately. Look, this kid is motivated. I mean, he’s really motivated. Rajon’s a competitor. He wants to be back before Adrian Peterson was back.

"That’s sort of how Rajon is. He doesn’t talk about that stuff all the time, but that’s how he’s thinking. He’s doing well.""

As you can see Rondo is NOT EXPECTED to miss half a season. Sorry if the "Breaking" portion confused you, but considering the amount of random arguments trying to pass Rondo missing half a season as fact, it was time to "break it to them" that Rondo is not expected to miss half a season, and we shouldn't be expecting a news story to come out that says Rondo is not expected to miss half a season as nothing up to this point suggests that of any sort of estimation.

So please, stop using it in your arguments. That's all, thanks. Let's win a championship next year, what do you say?

Thank you for this thread. The whole idea of Rondo missing half the season is beyond ludicrous. The guy is one of the most competitive athletes I have ever seen, which is why I expect him to be traded, because he won't want to waste at least two years playing with dreck in hopes that some superstar 19-year-old is going to ride into town and save the franchise.

TP. I don't think anyone has definitively said "he's missing half the season." I know I've said I don't expect him to return as RAJON RONDO until the all-star break, but I must have missed the part where someone was talking definitively.

Because that would be stupid.

About as stupid as saying "he'll be back for training camp, you guys are being dumb."

It's been mentioned multiple times to support their "tank" argument in a myriad of trades, tired of arguing the same premise over and over needlessly.

I already knew that story and only wondered if Danny would use the swirling doubts to hold him out a bit/ dangle as trade bait behind the scenes/ or he'd be on the floor opening night.

Wasn't trying to hate. I honestly thought D.A. had said something today or Rondo himself which would be awesome because he's been off the grid a bit...I had expectations via the title. Not hating. Just deflated. I need some news since I'm a big Rondo fan and the title got me a little too excited.

Peace

There have been many posts on this blog talking about Rondo missing half the year, keeping him out the whole year, etc. etc., etc. That kind of talk is just plain dumb.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
I've always felt it best to rehab for a whole year JUST TO BE SURE.  You never know with knee injuries.  So I think it's best if he comes back in January.  That's just my opinion.

However, if Rondo looks good and feels good at the start of the season, play him.  I love watching him.

Agree with vinnie and BC here D.o.S.

There have been numerous bloggers definitely stating Rondo would be out half the year or more. While the chance does exist he will miss time during the season, all reports are that he won't and shouldn't. That's all I think BC is saying after seeing the "Rondo will be out half a season or more" as fact.
