Hmmm, not sure I understand where Houston is coming from with this.

Even if they land Howard (which still isn't a guarantee), why wouldn't you want to use Asik either as a back up 5 OR just shift him to the 4?

Is there a link to prove Houston is shopping both guys?

why are they making Lin available? Do they have other options at pg?
I don't think they want to have Lin as their PG with Howard/Harden.

Edit: Nevermind.

Ken Berger of CBS tweets Lin could go to detroit in sign and trade for Jose Calderon

Wow, absolutely wow. Given Detroit's management, I can't say I'm shocked that they'd actually want Lin's contract when they're still conducting that awful Brandon Knight experiment up there. As for Houston, that's an absolute coup. Calderon's been stuck in Toronto most of his career so his talents haven't really been showcased to the casual viewer, but anyone familiar with his game knows he's a wizard at the point. Tremendous basketball IQ, always makes the right pass, and instantly makes his teammates better. He doesn't have the name brand like Harden or Howard, but he'd be a HUGE addition for Houston.

Asik as backup? No way a contender is paying $8M to a backup center. You can argue they need insurance for Dwight's injury risk, but again, there's no way a contender is paying $8M for insurance.

Asik next to Dwight is even less plausible. That's absolute offensive nonsense.

Don't know what the heck happened to him. After he drafted Darko it's like his brain got consumed by zombies. He used to be one of the best GMs out there...

First they Trade Robinson for nothing
Then they waive Brooks and Delfino

Aaron Brooks rumored to be heading to Knicks, but wonder if they would take Lin back instead.

Clearly Houston is trying to tempt Ainge. They would love Rondo and Lin and Asik might be enough to get Danny interested.

Calderon fits that team really well if they get Howard. I'd be willing to guarantee Dwight would be the kind of guy to use his leverage on Houston to try and go get Rondo. I doubt Calderon would be the "sexy" pick at PG for his team.

Lin + Asik

for

Rondo + Melo

Works in ESPN Trade Machine and would save Boston huge money and get them under the Cap.

why are you folks trying to trade Rondo.

He is by far the best PG in the league. I am not joking. Wait until you get him on a team with people to run with him.

If we traded for Asik and Lin, we would owe them just short of $30 million in 2014-2015!!

I don't believe those numbers are correct.

Why would Boston want Lin? He doesn't make sense with Rondo around, and he's not good enough to be Rondo's successor...

Probably not mobile enough to be a 4, and too expensive for a backup.
