Why not just sign Greg Oden for a fraction of that? They're the same player.
They're actually quite different. Greg Odens Giantism has caused one leg to be significantly longer than the other. Very hard to fix.
Bynum's knees had a hard time catching up with his growth spurts so he's had to juggle building up muscular and tendon strength to support his weight and the pounding they take in an NBA schedule. Thats why they say if he'd gone to college for 2 years and let his knees get used to a smaller schedule he'd have a much easier time.
I guess he's always had to juggle strengthening them whilst playing aan 82 game schedule since the age of 17.
I still think you could roll the dice on him over a value deal while we rebuild. Put him in the weight room for a full year and force him to drop 30 or 40 pounds as part of his contract.
Bring him back in 2015.
