You would wait for it to get repaired before driving it right?If they could sign him and spend the entire year just building up strength in his knee, and take a slow rehab approach on Rondo, then the team would still effectively be tanking. They would just be doing it with good players injured.

I don't want Bynum for free.
I've had two minor meniscus surgeries...the first didn't go very well. Before the surgery at 6'4 I could hit my head on the rim..i'm 10 years post surgery now and have never been able to play competitive basketball since. I know these guys have world class surgeons but Bynums knees are done...he blew one of them bowling.I would pass.
I would stay away from Bynum. The things being said about his knees are very worrying. Especially so given the current state of the Celtics. They need to keep as much flexibility as possible. Not get bogged down on a multi-year contract on an oft-injured player. Wrong time to take that type of risk.
