Very happy to dump Jason Terry. Now Danny needs to get rid of Bass.

Bass + Humphries + pick for Josh Smith?

I do not want JSmooth, We do not win a title with JSMooth and Rondo. We are tanking for a reason. We need superstars. Rondo (could be), JSmooth, NOPE.

You still have Rondo, Green, Bradley, Lee, Sully, Wallace + Smith... that's a very versatile team with great defense and quite capable of competing.

I'm not a fan of Smith, but i rather get someone like him than playing the cap space game.... and a ****load of draft picks to keep adding talent via trade or through the draft.

Plus Smith is young enough to sustain through a re-tooling period.

where exactly are they going to get outside scoring?

Green and Lee are capable long range shooters. Sully has a mid-range game. Rondo has vastly improved his mid-range game. Jordan Crawford is still around (not that I care for that), plus this is not a final roster... nor a championship caliber. The point being made is that it's a team capable of competing, nothing more, and nothing less... due to their defense versatility more than anything... something you can use to build around going forward.

30 win team at best

Forgive me this has been brought up as I'm not reading back THAT many pages
If this deal does go down:
Evans, humphries, sully, bass and even Wallace and green (shav?) at the power forward spot......

Seems like Ainge will be moving two guys from that list

I can't see Atlanta having any interest in that trade package. Maybe remove Bass and replace him with an expiring contract (Bogans?).

Then if Atlanta completely strike out in free agency, which would have to happen first so sometime in late July or early August, maybe then Atlanta would take expiring contracts + a first to rent out their cap space for 12 months and to get to the salary floor.

He's right, the team would easily win more that 30 games.

But I'd wait until we get all those players on the roster before I wasted time betting on how they'd do.

I like it, even if we can't swap for Smith as well. It'd be awesome if we could.

Rondo/TWill
Bradley/Lee
Green/Wallace
Smith/Sully
Evans/Melo

I'll take that ANY day. I love that roster. Probably the greatest defensive team ever.

Seeing that they must have KG's approval I'm not too worried about this one. I doubt he would want to play on that team. And with a new and untested coach too.
Peace through Tyranny

The biggest Nets name in the deal is Wallace, who turned 30 years old this past season, but looked more like 40. One of the most disappointing players of 2012-13, Wallace averaged 7.7 points on 39.7 percent shooting while starting 68 of the 69 games. Once a dynamic two-way player, Wallace struggled to make a dent on either end of the floor and he posted a 11.6 player efficiency rating. Keep in mind, that was Year 1 in a four-year deal.

Before Celtics fans rush (crawl?) to the stores to buy a Wallace jersey, he may not even play a game in a Boston uniform. With $30.3 million due over the next three seasons, Wallace could be a candidate to be waived under the "stretch" provision. That would allow the Celtics to chop up his contract and pay it out over the next seven seasons in $4.3 million increments. Just like that, the Celtics could shed $6 million every season in cap space.

Outside of Wallace, the Celtics will receive a trio of one-dimensional veterans in Evans, Humphries and Bogans. None of whom figure to make big contributions for the Celtics next season and considering their tank objective, they'll be just fine with that.

This trade will make the next few seasons suck enough.  I don't want to see seasons ruined five, six, and seven years down the road because we're carrying Wallace's dead money on our cap.

Me too! Am I the only one elated to be moving on from KG, Doc, Pierce and Terry?

"Elated"?

Yeah, what did those bums ever do for us, anyway?

Terry, I'll give you.  I'm surprised that any Celtics fan is gleefully celebrating that we'll no longer get to watch Pierce and KG, though.

Because for me, it was time to move on. The brand of Celtic basketball that we were seeing toward the end of this season and going into the playoffs was awful. I am judging Pierce and KG for their current abilities, not what they were able to do 5 years ago.
