I hope this is step one to something more. Picks are nice...but he has to have a plan to move the junk the nets are sending

I have no doubt that this is the case. I don't think Wallace will be here for long or Humphries.

I think we may be stuck with Wallace for awhile.  No one's going to want that deal.

Humphries, OTOH, is as good as gone by the deadline.  The whole reason he got that deal in the first place was as trade ballast.

Very happy to dump Jason Terry. Now Danny needs to get rid of Bass.

Agree 100 percent. Don't see any place for him behind sully and Wallace at power forward

So is it safe to say sully starts if he is healthy?

Though I'm not too enthused about the deal (assuming KG gives the green light), I am excited to see Gerald Wallace play for us.  Plays so hard.

Wonder if DA will use one of these First to get a team to take humphries into cap space to get a TE and sign Smith.

What i'm excited about is after KG and Pierce retire, packaging the Unprotected Nets pick [which could very well be a lottery pick] with an expiring Gerald Wallace

If this just a two team trade you're probably right.

I do not want JSmooth, We do not win a title with JSMooth and Rondo. We are tanking for a reason. We need superstars. Rondo (could be), JSmooth, NOPE.

Maybe Wallace will be concussed into retirement before his contract ends.

You still have Rondo, Green, Bradley, Lee, Sully, Wallace + Smith... that's a very versatile team with great defense and quite capable of competing.

I'm not a fan of Smith, but i rather get someone like him than playing the cap space game.... and a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.load of draft picks to keep adding talent via trade or through the draft.

Plus Smith is young enough to sustain through a re-tooling period.

We could be good again a lot faster than some people think.

We can be a player in trades for major stars as soon as next year. We have quality guys on reasonable contracts (Green, Sully, Bradley), plus a boatload of first round picks.

We can assemble offers that look as good on paper as the ones that fetched Harden, Howard, Carmelo etc. - particularly if LAC or BKN stumble and those picks are better than expected.

If we get a great player in the draft next year, we can fairly quickly add a third star, perhaps with a couple of picks left over to keep building.

Unfortunately, Wallace was awful. I'm a Nets season-ticket holder, so can tell you his offense has regressed so badly that teams frequently left him open. 7.7 points per game, 39% from the floor, 28% from three point range, 64% from the line. One of the worst scorers staring in the NBA last season.

Brandon Bass is a better PF than Humphries.
