We'll have the assets to land some potentially "disgruntled" stars down the road

Aldridge
Love
Curry
Cousins
Durant (if OKC can't get it done)
Westbrook (see above)

I just don't understand. We're in a position to RETOOL and compete within the next few years. Instead, Ainge decides to completely rebuild and absolutely eliminate any sort of postseason thoughts for at least three years?

This is a horrible trade.

ppl we could have lost doc, kg and paul for nothing!!!, we are getting 4 picks combined!? 3 unprotected and 1 will be either the hawks or nets! when you get 4 picks that are associated with the hawks, nets and clips franchises that's always a good deal believe me

KG is no fool. This is a good trade for the franchise, and he gets to keep playing with Paul and try for another ring.

KG is going to block this.

I wouldn't be so sure. With Pierce there, and Williams and Lopez it's a much better deal for him to be there than wasting his last year(s) away on a rebuilding Celts team that will probably trade Pierce regardless.

KG is going to block this.

Not if he wants to stay with PP and compete for a title , while helping the c's rebuild .

I just want to know who makes the team. A lot of players and only what...15 spots? Nets sending over 5 players?

Kg won't block it. He will be a key cog in a  very good team. Rondo is the one that will be p---ed

It's so bittersweet. I like that KG and Pierce will go to a contender, but it's sad to see them go. Sigh.

On the business side of things, this deal is looking pretty fair. Getting so many draft picks is sick, not to mention getting some expendable contracts. And for the nets, having Pierce and KG for their spare parts immediately improves their team next year. I think they can win it all IMO.

Rondo is going to Atlanta with Dwight, JSmooth. I have a big hunch on this one. He will not be p---ed for long.

Golden State made an inquiry on Kevin Garnett with Boston on Wednesday, but there was no traction there, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Wouldn't give us Barnes? Hah

As currently structured this is a good trade for the Celtics. The sun is setting on the old guard, and we have to keep pushing toward the horizon. The sun will rise again...just in 2016.

I can take a few bruises. All of us can. Sit back and enjoy the rebuilding process. I'm excited, and KG and Pierce know we will never forget them. They are Celtics for life.

As for Tornike Shengelia, a lot of Celts fans are overlooking this guy. It's very telling that a lot of Nets fans are hesitant in becoming what is basically a bona fide contender just to keep him. Great offensive game, remarkable motor, good size, 21 years old? Sign me up. We're lucky to be getting a prospect like this.

What? He played less than 100 minutes total last season, so what exactly did you see that you love? I'm a Nets season ticket holder - I'm outside the Barclay's Center right now - and can assure you the mood here is giddy. Wallace's offense regressed so badly last season teams often left him open, and most Brooklyn fans I know assumed he was unmovable. Humphries was completely overmatched by journeyman rebounder Reggie Evans, Shengalia is a gutsy 12th man.

A friend just opined that the post-trade 13-14 Celtics could potentially be the least watchable team assembled since the 96-97 team. But then we're forced to choose between rookie Antoine Walker and coming off ACL surgery Rajon Rondo...

I'm okay with the trade but I would be shocked if it went through.
