Sheridan is a hack. Did he completely forget we have Jeff at the 3?

I don't think that Danny is enamored with Jeff Green the same way fans around here are.

MKG

JG

I'm just saying.

Green averaged 17 a game after the all-star break and 20 a game in the playoffs.

Someone remind me why MKG is being shopped again?

Because he was an amazing player, but an absolutely horrible GM.

Because Charlotte believes Otto Porter will be available at #4.

Can MKG play the 2?  I thought he was a defense first player.  I mean I think he would help the rebuilding process but is he a starter level player for us coming in?

He is starter level this year, but he is about two years away from a breakout season.  The Bobcats really want Harrison Barnes for him, but that isn't going to happen and Rondo is more of a piece than Barnes is.  I don't think we'd have to give up Rondo to get him, in any case.

I think trading our 16th pick and the Clippers pick + one more piece would nab him.  The Bobcats have already given up on him and most of the smart GMs who would normally jump on him have their hands tied this year.  If we could get him for Sullinger + 16 + Clippers 2015 I would be very interested.

Whoa that's too much by a lot....

It's really not though. MKG was the youngest player in the draft when he came out (he's still 19), and still has the chance to be a franchise player. He is a do it all 3, can guard the 2-4 spots, rebound the basketball and block shots. If you can get him for Sullinger and the 16th pick in a bad draft and what will probably be a late pick in 2015 you do it every time.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Then this is the right time to trade Green. I would move him for MKG right away.

The rumor is that Charlotte plans on drafting Otto Porter and wants to trade MKG for an established big man.

Brandon Bass would actually be a massive improvement over Byron Mullens.

Bass and salary filler for MKG and Ramon Sessions (Rondo insurance on an expiring contract)?  Keep Pierce.  Lee, salary filler, and draft considerations for Paul Millsap.  Sign a back-up center and a three-point shooting wing.

Bass for MKG??? In a heartbeat

No way.  The 16th pick and possible late first round pick in 2015 for a guy who was the 2nd overall pick just last year?  It's not like Gilchrist was horrible.  He showed he had a lot to work on and may never have a ceiling more than very good role player but you don't trade a very young player you drafted extremely early for just that.  That's just like giving him away.  If they have to keep him, I don't think they'll be broken up about it.

I would do it if the trade were the least favorable of our 2015 picks, but not for the Clippers pick outright.  I figure one of the two of us will pick in the 20's, but I could see either of us being lottery teams in 2015 as well.

I'm a huge Jeff Green guy but if you are rebuilding trading Green and something for MKG is a great idea.

It's worth noting that on the Kentucky championship team 2 years ago, MKG was the vocal and emotional leader in a group containing numerous NBA prospects. The heart and motor of that team was more MKG than the Unibrow.

Piecing together a few rumors with a HUGE bias:

Green and Bass would give us enough of a trade exception to land Josh Smith (who I don't like and would much rather have Paul Milsap), no?

Rondo
MKG
Pierce
J-Smoothe
KG

I doubt they are generous enough to take Bass off our hands like that.

If the Pierce to Cleveland deal happened (or another team with cap space), then signed Smith with our TPE. I would move AB a pick or two (our pick this year and 2015) for MKG, then we would have length and athleticism at the 2,3,4 spot that would be unrivaled throughout the whole league. We wouldn't be able to shoot a lick but we would be something else defensively and on the break.

I would move anyone for MKG with the exception of Rondo....Bradley and our #16 might seem like a step to the side instead of forward but I think MKG is going to be a solid player two or three years down the road.
