Doc Rivers' compensation agreement states that Celtics and Clippers can't exchange players until the end of the '13-'14 season, source says.

Haha that so ridiculous. So does that also rule out three team deals since that essentially means that we arent "exchanging" players per say.

Talk about a horse crap ruling.  I could see if the league restricted KG and Jordan, but this ruling seems to imply all players on either team are off-limits.

I don't understand why the owners (as a collective) are signing off on this.  They should be telling Stern to pound sand.  This seems like a bad move for the league.

I´m shaking my head, rolling my eyes and palming my face all at once.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I actually don't have a problem with this as, if they let it happen, when teams think a change of coach is in order, they can then start shopping for coaches with jobs from other teams while offering players in return for letting the coach out of their contract.

I think that's bad practice. The coaching profession in the NBA, as a whole is already so unstable(witness Karl, Doc, Hollins and VDN all taking their teams to the playoffs but leaving their teams), why add to that instability?

Biggest issue is that it evades CBA restrictions for trading money. The Clippers sent us a first round pick and the Celtics saved probably 10-15 million over 3 years.

That's a heck of an incentive to a deal for some owners.

Right, but money matters to a lot of owners. Teams have dumped very good draft picks solely to save money before.

BS. I was looking to forward to seeing Deandre in green. How about a 3 team trade? I know many are against having a stagnant offense with a line up of rondo lee Jeff g j smoove and deandre but that does t really matter if we'll hold lebroid and princesses under 50 PTs a game.

The nbapa must be very weak to allow this type of collusion, it nullifies part of kg no trade clause, no way the mlbpa would put up with this crap, no wonder the owners are eager for another lockout

Outside of Paul, Clippers don't really have anything of interest anyway, except maybe Bledsoe (we're not getting Griffin).  The ruling may bother some people in concept, but unless 3-team deals are still possible, I see it as a guarantee that Deandre Jordan has 0% chance of playing in a Celtic uniform this season.  Works for me.

Agreed.
