Can't wait for Stern to retire, the most corrupt commissioner in the history of sports!

Makes no sense to me not to allow them to make that deal.

I don't understand why KG can't be traded to LA now.

I think the inclusion of a 2015 1st rounder for Doc is telling: it means the Clips could involve their 2013 1st rounder in a deal for KG before Draft Night.

I'm not trading KG for no crummy #25 pick in a bad draft.  We better get a good prospect for him or a young player on the way up or that plus big time cap relief (expiring contract).

It's Jordan and the draft pick...

I wonder if a multi-team deal could help.  A third or fourth team involved would indicate this was not some pre-arranged deal.

@KBergCBS: The NBA will not approve any subsequent exchange of players between the Clippers and Celtics this summer, and the teams understand that.

key words that stick out for me....."this summer"

A classy way for KG to end his career would be for him to be the noble warrior and play out his contract in Boston, softening the rebuild, and hopefully instilling Celtics' values int he new players.

If Ty Lue gets promoted, His buddy KG would probably want to play for him and get his career off to a strong start.

Great, who cares. KG is still a great asset here or in another trade of equal or better value than what the Clips had on the table. I'm not concerned about this. Getting Doc outta town was the immediate need, and we've gotten that settled. Now that other contenders know KG 'could' be had, they are welcome to start lining up their offers.

He is the one guy I wouldn't mind keeping around if he's into staying.

Garnett for Gasol.

I don't think it makes any sense for Doc to be gone and for KG to still be here.

KG, time to reopen your view on teams that you will accept trades to.

A crazy idea I had...

I'll start with the things we know.
1. The Celtics and Clippers cannot trade with each other this summer.
2. The Celtics want at least one draft pick with DAJ for KG.
3. Draft picks must be signed during the summer (anyone know exact date?).
4. After a pick is signed, that player cannot be traded for several months.

All of this tells me that the Clippers won't be able to send us that draft pick we want. Meaning, if Ainge plays his cards right, we could once again be looking at DAJ and Bledsoe for KG. That's my hope, at least.

Interesting. Does KG retire?

and leave 11 million plus? I don't think so.

If the $300M he's made so far isn't enough to get by on $11M more won't help much. I'd just as soon see him come back, even if they end up trading him during or after the season. I also look forward to the Clips finding out that, even with Doc, they don't have the horses to win the west, and Bledsoe will do less to tip the scales than KG (or PP) would.

ask Scottie Pippen and Antoine Walker if all the money they made during their careers was enough. 11 million is always 11 million

Tell yourself $11M more would have changed their fortunes. They'd be just as broke. The money wasn't important enough to Antoine to even stay in decent playing shape.
Acrtually, 22 million is 22 million.  Don't forget KG would be leaving two years on the table.  And, while many folks think that KG has made enough money already, I too believe he would stick around for the money.  I know some people have left a good sum of money and walked away.  But those people are stupid.

Nope. KG's 2014-2015 salary is non-guaranteed. Kidd walked away , he was still going to get paid. Same with Grant Hill so don't act like you know what's in the players' minds. If they want to retire, they will. If they want the money, they'll stay.

We may have seen the last of KG playing in the NBA.

Hypothetical scenario:

Clippers could draft someone on Thursday, and not come to terms with that player until October, if they wanted.

Clips could then trade Jordan and the rights to that player for KG the week before the season opener.
