Clippers, Celtics are agreeing upon a 2015 unprotected first-round pick, league source tells Y! Rivers, Clippers still finalizing contract.

Gary Washburn proving once again he is useless when it comes to inside information. Thats embarassing
I thought the 2014 draft was more loaded though? It could be the their first year together they don't quite mesh and the second year that they're really good so not sure how I feel about this.

Who's to say KG and Pierce don't retire after the first year ;)
Yeah next year Clips could be really good... the year after that, Pierce will be coming back to Boston and KG will be signing on as our big man coach.

I like the sound of that.  TP.

Danny comes through again!  Get this done!

Hope that Pierce to Cleveland deal drops as well. There could be a lot of good talent at the back end of this years draft.

I don't.  I'd hate to see Pierce finishing his career on a team like Cleveland.

I think that's even too cold blooded for Ainge to do. Pierce with be traded to someone willing to buy him IMO. Let him go home and finish his career.

You don't build a contender by doing players favors. If anyone has learned that it's Ainge. You do the best deal that is best for your team, let the player worry about the player.

I'm a huge Pierce fan, and the fact that he has to play on a team other than the Celtics kills me. But we don't owe him anything. He made millions of dollars and got a ring here. He doesn't have a no trade clause.

you know with Doc there a few years and how he takes care of his veterans given that they remain healthy, pretty sure they'll hang around at least a couple years. still were forgetting Stern might not even let it happen?

I think Danny buys Pierce out. Don't see him trading him

ugh..reality is setting in..next will be KG for that stiff Jordan

A stiff is a good thing. We want to get as many players who can't play on the 2014 Celtic roster:

Stern cannot block the Doc for a pick trade. He could potentially block a future KG for Jordan deal, which I wouldn't mind either way, but he has no basis to block the Doc for a 1st trade.

afraid this team will do just enough to be an 8 seed...only to get swept and miss the lottery...i agree...I wish boston would lose 70 games next year.

Yup. It's never a very good idea to give up future first round draft picks in any situation.

Back in the 80s, Seattle (who was pretty good at the time) traded a future first to the Celtics for Gerald Henderson. That pick turned out to be #2 overall come draft day. Len Bias...that was just sheer brilliance in Red's part.

Pierce is a Celtic legend. You just don't dump him off in Cleveland where the #1 goal would be to get swept in the first round of the playoffs. He's done too much for the C's and free agents would definitely think twice about coming to Boston if they don't already at this point.

Maybe a three way around draft time could happen if Pierce is moved. I saw that Olidiapo could fall to the Hornets in the draft. That would make Gordon very expendable. But I think I would rather have the Trade Exception.

I also don't mind tanking for a chance at Wiggins.

Pierce made more than $150 million with the C's. That is payment enough. Plus FA's are not looking to come to Boston whether Pierce stays or not. The goal now is to get a high pick in the loaded 2014 draft. I hope the team stinks next year.

Clippers need paul pierce...

After they dump the dumpster fire Jordan on the C's they need PP and KG

Paul
Billups
Pierce
KG
Blake

Bench: Bledsoe, Crawford, Barnes, Butler, odom,

I can see them moving Butler if they get PP...they need another big
