If the fighting story is true and Ainge decides Rondo isn't someone he wants to build for the future around.....what would you realistically trade him for?

Magic: #2 pick this year, Harrington (Non-guarateed) and one of  Harkless, Harris or Nicholson along with a future #1 just about works salary wise, might have to throw in our old friend E Moore to make it work.  We get a chance to pick McLemore/Oladipo/Len/Bennett and still have our #16 to address the PG position.  Not a great deal, but I think the Magic would take it.  Past that, there really isn't much out there, possibly a deal with the Pelicans for this years 1st rounder a future 1st and Vasquez.  Any other ideas?  I always hear Evans and Cousins for him on the forums but I just don't see that happening.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rondo swapped for Vasquez.

I think he's a decent point guard.

I wouldn't mind the Orlando deal either.

Not interested in Vasquez.

I like the idea of trading Rondo for a high draft pick but I am skeptical about so many of the top prospects in this year's draft that I think I would take a pass on this idea for now. Maybe next year instead.

Or maybe a trade for a lower pick (top ten) to pickup a Trey Burke or CJ McCollum + addition assets (young players or picks) would be better than aiming for Orlando's #2 pick. I guess the Vasquez idea would do this (#6 pick) although I would prefer something else other than Vasquez to do that deal.

Edit: If Cleveland end up taking Alex Len and Nerlens Noel is available at #2, I would consider trading Rondo for that Orlando pick. If Cleveland takes Noel though, I don't think there is anyone there I want badly enough to sacrifice Rondo.

I am very high on Burke and would seriously consider a Rondo to NO for #6/Vasquez/Anderson or Lopez. Have Burke be a sixth man for now and possibly move Grevis at the deadline.

The #2 pick as mentioned, or an all star caliber player, preferably a big. DMC? Al Horford?

Rondos still a top pg in this league, if you trade him take nothing less than the best

I hate the idea of giving Rondo up but he does get us the most assets back.  I would be a fan of Vasquez, Lopez and #6 for Rondo if we'd be able to dump the contract of Terry, Lee or Bass in that deal.  I also think that deal would make the running it back option not such a horrible idea.  Vasquez, Bradley, Pierce, KG, Lopez with Green, #6, Sullinger and the left over from Terry, Lee, Bass coming off the bench.

He's also a point guard with a partially torn ACL

Something at the level of Paul George, at the least. Tyreke Evans... AND DMC. Greg Monroe... AND Brandon Knight. Nikola Vucevic... AND Tobias Harris.

Just keep him, we're not getting those deals ever.

No one.

I can't even believe people are taking this story as anything of great importance or weight. Forgetting the anonymous, coincidentally timed leak, the idea that this is even that much of a rarity/big deal is baffling to me. There is a reason it didn't get out earlier, if true, and a reason stories like this don't get out often, but it isn't from them being some absolute rarity.

Just another story about Rondo being hard to coach.  Just was wondering what people had for ideas for a realistic Rondo trade if it ever happened.

Rondo, the #16, Fab Melo  for Turkaglu's expiring and the #2 ... if Nerlens is available.

Wonder if Orlando would bite.

Orlando would take it in a heart beat.  They are looking for a PG.  We'd have to get at least 2 more assets out of the deal along with the # 2 pick and keep #16.

I don't see that happening.  Rondo's a flawed Top 10 PG coming off ACL surgery with severe attitude problems.  Even his own coach and teammates are trying to get out of Boston just to get away from him.

I think most teams would rather have Noel recovering from ACL surgery on his rookie deal than Rondo recovering from ACL surgery making 12 mil a year.  You build around bigs in this league... not 29 year old fringe allstar pointguards.
