Glad that somebody linked a reminder of Larry Bird's F-Bomb to Chris Ford.
His attitude was so much like Rondo's. All business, 100% loyalty and always ready to speak his mind.

This story about Rondo and Doc seems pretty fictional to me, but if it did happen, it makes me love RR even more. That's the kind of player I want on my team.

Rondo may be Latrell Sprewell waiting to happen.  Time to move him for a late 2nd round pick if we can get it.

This is so over the top I had to comment to say I DISAGREE.  Spree didn't care what game he won as long as he got paid.  He had zero control over his anger, just about like Metta World Peace.  Throwing rondo in with those players is just really dumb.

Wow.  Comparing Rondo to Bird, and Doc to Chris Ford.

Rondo is no Bird, and thank goodness Doc is no Chris Ford.

I'd need first hand info to believe the rumor.   Stories get blown out of proportion , inflated each time they are repeated. To increase the drama from one person to next.

I imagine there has been friction , but without first hand comment from those there or involved I wouldn'5 get too emotional over any of the rumors.

No offense dude, but after reading all of your posts bashing Doc, I actually started laughing about this one.

If you're concerned that people are comparing Rondo to Bird as players or Ford to Doc as coaches put your mind at ease, I don't think there have been any posts in this thread remotely like that.

Well, if an all-time great player and BBIQ guy gets sick of an average (at best) coach, that's one thing.  If a young PG goes off on what is supposedly the #2 coach in the NBA, that's quite different, right?

I get the "it happens" idea, but it seems to happen too much with Rondo for my taste.  Coach and best player have to be on the same page when rebuilding with a young team.

Right now we're not rebuilding with a young team, and Doc and Rondo are generally on the same page, to the point that Doc lets Rondo call the plays for most of the game.

Please stop the Doc is the number 2 coach in the league nonsense. The man cannot win without stars. He wont even stay to be exposed.

How many coaches win without stars?

All of them except Doc, obviously.

there is merit that doc doesn't want to go on a full rebuild. But to call a team without kg and pp as going on "rebuild" mode doesn't make sense

either he really doesn't see alot in Rondo, Green and Sully

or

he has little confidence without big name stars, he can pull it together

or

he really really can't stand coaching Rondo. I mean i can understand this. When Rondo does his roll the ball over the court slowly crap, when the team needs the ball to be pushed to when he sets formations on the fly (when clearly it didn't work in the losing streak). Doc looks like he lacks control of the team and as a coach you should be in control more than any one player.

I wouldn't be surprised its either getting rid of Rivers or Rondo. If Rondo suddenly gets traded and Doc has a change of heart to coach the team, i guess we will know the truth then

Does Larry Brown's 2004 Detroit Pistons count? Not one of them were superstars though! Lol.
