"There are on going discussions of several things and I can't talk about that."

He'll take 10 minutes and get several laughs from the reporters before he's done, but I think that's the jest of it.
Link, who and where was this said?

NO! NO! That's what I think he'll say...if he says anything.

In light of lateness of the day, my guess is Doc's not going to say anything publically today.

Would people be satisfied if Doc said that Ainge asked him not to talk about things right now?  Or if Ainge himself said that was what he wanted?

I'm guessing the meeting resulted in a mutual understanding that Doc is not coming back, and he'd like to get to coach a contender elsewhere, if possible.

I know the Clips reached out to the Celtics first, per Woj, but I can't imagine that would have happened if Ainge met with Doc and Doc expressed a desire to stay.

I want Doc to tell the Clippers.

"Look you need me to win the championship, and to keep CP3 here. I can win the finals, if you bring KG/PP here. Don't be cheap, and just trust in me. Now give the Celtics Jordan, 2 first round picks, and throw in Butler and we'll call it a day."

That's all.

I don't mind KG/PP staying or leaving. I really don't. I actually want them to retire as Celtics. But I understand we're in a rebuilding process or looking to contend with a team that just needs a few pieces in the future. And that draft can do it. Especially if we get Smith/Jordan who can be good defensive big men/stoppers, that we've definitely needed.

How many times have we said, "imagine if we had a healthy and young team that could survive 25 minutes without being injured or hurt?"

I don't like Jordan, but he's a step above Perkins. If we can get Butler, and package someone else to somehow acquire picks, or assets. Trade Pierce with a 3 way trade to get Smith, I can only see how bright the future will be.

I think Smith is a game changer under the right system. Depending on who coaches us we'll see how everything goes.

Source close to Doc tells ESPN he wants to coach next year, but only if there's a chance at another championship

There you go.  That's probably what was said at the meeting.

Yup, so basically it sounds pretty mutual. Doc wants Pierce and Garnett back and Danny does not. So they agree to part ways.

How many times do you think we can trade Pierce?  If we send him to LAC, we can't then ship him to ATL.

sure it was.....and Doc is as panicked as Clippers about him not being released to them with some deal....

Oh........I would be ruthless and hold the freakin Clippers and DOC to the fire ......they have benn planning this for months

I want a minimum of DA original offer ......or I 'd let DOC for to TV and keep KG and see if anybody had a better offer or he retires ...either way lot of money off the books

Its do or die for Rivers and his partners in crime .....

I'd hold them to the fire till they roasted

Back at the break,   I remember one of the interviews with CP3,  saying he'd love to play with KG , and they asked KG would he be interested in going somewhere else to try and win one.   He said NO ,  I think he was honest,  but at some point ,,  you know CP3 waws recruiting KG .

I got to believe CP3 has been behind this whole KG, DH and DOC thing ......he got the blessing of Clippers ,  they will do anything he asked.

I think DA has the CLippers over a barrel and I see no reason to compromise on anything,  he is gonna lose DOC as a coach at this point anyhow.

IF DOC demanded GRIFFIN ....you know CLIPPERS would never do it......so they would hire a coach next day and CP3 would leave soon as he knows where DH is going.

He fact they are stalling is becasue they KNOW they  have to have KG and DOC to keep CP3

I would make the Demands all the way up to Griffin and stop there.   Clippers need Griffin to trade for LAKERS DH....

Danny is in the drivers seat ...make em pay ..or suffer...can get junk offers from other teams

This could go south quickly if Doc wants out. Not sure he would do that to Ainge. One more year is not too much to ask; but that means keeping Pierce and Doc will have a hard time making Pierce come off the Bench which at this point is where he belongs and where he would be if he went to the Clippers.
