Doc will say he is coming back.

No way should he pass up on $21 million. That would be idiotic.

thats for sure........ I would be willing to do ALOT worse types of work than rebuild and coach the Celtics for 21 million dollars.

I think that this whole thing was a combined decision by Doc and Ainge.

Ainge sees the team as currently constructed a super long shot to win the championship so he wants to supercharge the rebuild obtaining young assets or picks.  Ownership doesnt need to pay a coach $7mm to lose in the first or second round.

Doc is not really not interested in a rebuild so he wants out.

Put the two together and you have what became Doc & KG for ultimately one of the following packages:

1. Jordan and Bledsoe
2. Jordan and 2 #1's
3. Jordan and 1 #1 and cap relief

DAnny's starting offer was probably a combination of Jordan + Bledsoe + either picks or cap relief.  Which arguably would be a great coup for the Celtics.

However, my personal thoughts are the Clips are foolish for not taking 2. or 3. above.

Now Doc and Danny will tell what happened- they may even state they revisited a deal from February or that the CLips apporached them and they pursued it as far as it went.

Doc can go either way. I think if Ainge agrees to bring back PP he stays and they run it again. Expect mid-season trades on PP and KG.
If Ainge trades or lets PP go then anything can happen.

My guess is somewhere around 4 or 5.  I'm assuming Ainge and Doc have already talked by now.

I think this meeting is nothing more then, "what's it going to take to get a deal done?"

Doc wants LA and Kg.

La wants doc and will take KG for doc.

Both want to keep as many assets as possible from Boston but Ainge is gonna get as much as he can.

As a result I could see this one on one with doc also involving a conference call with the clippers. Wouldn't shock me if the trade happened tonight or possibly as late as Friday.

I would not be surprised if Doc and DA arrange things so that Danny has full responsibility for whatever happens next.

For example Doc can say "I would love to come back and coach the team we had last year for one more run. However if Danny feels that a change is in order, and my moving on is part of that change, we will work together to make a deal that helps his goals as GM of the Celtics, and also does right by any players - or me as the coach - involved in the transactions."

This would leave the door open for any possible outcome, without making Doc the fall guy, or burning bridges with the players if he returns.

then why schedule a press conf if things are still up in the air?

Hmmm... Didn't realize a press conference was scheduled. I guess that potentially changes my thinking. Although I guess it could always be cancelled.

I still just have a hard time thinking the clips and celtics don't get a deal done.

I don't think there is a press conference. I think Doc is meeting with Ainge and then the reporters are going to try to grab him when he leaves the meeting. (or at least that's the impression I got)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

well when I read this:
"The long silence is coming to an end. According to Steve Bulpett's "league source," Doc Rivers will finally face the music and the press for the first time tomorrow."

It sounds like a press conf to me.

Look ....Boston has the upper hand.....they are not the ones that are trying to win a championship , keep CP3 .

I would just tell old man Sterling   Jordan and Bledsoe ......take it of leave it...

Celtics .....YOU put the deal out there ...name your price ....they don't like ...fine.....ignore them and go about YOUR BUSINESS.

Celtics are in the drivers seat ...we have WHAT THEY MUST HAVE  ( I don't think CP3 is staying, I thing it was a falase rumor ( let out by PR of Clippers) saying he didn't care if the Boston deal fell though....it was all a rouse ......to made their side look solid....

CLippers are using the media to put out dis imformation  .

"There are on going discussions of several things and I can't talk about that."

He'll take 10 minutes and get several laughs from the reporters before he's done, but I think that's the jest of it.

did u guys see the game last night?

i'm sure we'll be in for some crazy stuff when Doc starts talking.
not only do I think it's plausible that he's coming back, but I think we'll RUN IT BACK as well.

KG just got inspired by Tim. Matter of fact, all the Cs have been inspired. They're watching. They think they're better.

I'll be surprised if Doc walks away.

The "jest of it" is probably about right.
