Trolling?
That's your argument?
That I am trolling?
My idea, do not make a bad trade just for the sake of trading.
Be patient.
Let KG and Pierce play out their contracts if there are no good deals and the do not retire.
I respect your opinion WD, you seem to be a pretty smart guy.
What exactly is Danny suppose to do? I feel the leverage has been severely twisted in the favor of LA. Danny almost has to make this deal.
If this deal falls through, you don't really expect the gang to shrug their shoulders and all come back to Boston, do you?
Let them sign Doc, and get a pick as compensation. Then, just let KG retire. I'd rather let him go for nothing than take on DeAndre Jordan at $11 million+.
I can see some virtue in keeping KG or just letting him retire, but let's not kid ourselves. Jordan averaged 8.8 pts and 7.2 rebs in just 24 minutes a game this regular season. Here are some comparisons.
Spencer Hawes - 11 pts and 8.3 rebs in 27 minutes a game.
Omer Asik - 10.1 pts and 11.7 rebs in 30 minutes a game.
Joakim Noah - 11.9 pts and 11.1 rebs in 37 minutes a game.
I could go on and on but do I need to? There is ZERO reason to believe Boston's going to sign a franchise center in free agency. That means the choices are to hope the team sucks into the lottery and then hope they get lucky enough to suck just as a franchise center is coming out AND THEN get lucky enough to get one of the top picks. The Celtics could suck for years without either of those last two things ever happening.
So, the choice is do you want to pay Deandre Jordan 11 mil a year or pay somebody else who may not be all that much better than Jordan that much or maybe a lot more?
And by the way, have people forgotten how old KG is? If he goes to the Clippers and then suffers any kind of serious injury, it wouldn't be hard for them to wind up in the lottery next year.
