I want Patrick Ewing coaching the Celtics.
He'll be a very good mentor to Sully and DeAndre (i'm assuming the trade pushes through), especially Jordan.
I don't want Patrick Ewing on the team. I don't rate him as a coach. Although I think he would make a better head coach than assistant / big man coach.
Not impressed by his work with Dwight Howard or Yao Ming. The only impact I saw on Dwight was that ugly running hook crap he does. And Yao? Yao credits Thibodeau for his development in Houston (especially on defense and avoiding foul trouble). All the hours Thibs spent with him. Not Ewing.
I don't have confidence in Ewing as a coach. But like I said, I'd rate him higher as a head coaching prospect than an assistant. I think he has more of the leadership and motivational side of things than teaching fundamentals and developing players. Still, concerns over his limitations would have him well down the list of possible coaching prospects in the assistant ranks.
