Clips, Celtics deal for Doc, KG hit snag. BSott to meet Clips owner Donald Sterling Tue, BShaw to meet Sterling Wed.

Now Clips still working with Celtics trying to get Doc, but prepared TP move on with either BShaw or BSoctt Lionel Hollins still in mix

tHATs a revisited report from earlier this week.

the nbatv terry deal flashed on the bottom screen twice, havent seen it since.  Apparently it jumped up on twitter too and was immediately taken down.  This is getting downright ridiculous1

I'd gain a little bit of respect back for the Clips if they took Terry in this deal. Want to be real contenders? Got to take a risk and pay a little.

There's a reason this loser franchise has never won a title

Something like this happened I think last year or the year before, a report got leaked and it got immediately pulled only for it to actually be true.  for all we know the deals are done and no one is spilling the beans until all the involved parties are notified.

Can someone please explain the Salary Cap implications, Please?

Garnett Pierce and say Lee exit via trade or buyout and the Celts obtain only Jordan at 10 million per, Team should have enough payroll to make a run at JSmith AJefferson or Millsap NO?

How did the Heat do it?
By having a lot more cap space.

The NBA salary cap is ~$58 million. The Celtics payroll is $73 million next season.  Garnett, Pierce, and Lee make $32 million, Jordan and Butler make $19, not accounting for Jordan's trade kicker. So for next year, the cap implications are pretty much squat.

GEEZUS!
minus Jordan Butler  at 41 million, seems to me outside of Rondo/Green there are more than a few players making way to much, No?

Ainge better stick to his guns here. I'm already upset he caved on Bledsoe, he better not cave on getting rid of Terry of Lee's contract, otherwise we are better off rejecting the deal and letting KG retire and Doc go back to broadcasting.
Agreed 100%.

It sure is going to be weird if the deal doesn't get done. Wonder how the majority of Celtics fans will feel about it...

Ill feel like I did about the A-Rod deal. Best deals that are made are the one that are never done.

I'm not sure it will be tonight: Bargaining over whatever continues. #Clippers trying to tell #Celtics they'll walk away and hire Brian Shaw

Getting some interesting info from the Clips board...

Apparently Woj was on air making it sound like a deal is definitely getting done.

Also, I liked this tweet

D.J. Foster ‏@fosterdj 4m

For the love of Closs, just take Courtney Lee's contract! You get KG and DOC, CP3 comes back, Bledsoe stays -- I promise it's worth it!

Ainge should send this back.

Good luck with Paul.  All this shows is the team is afraid to pull the trigger on the big move needed to get over the top.

I saw the tweet about nba not rushing the deal, but if the terry thing popping up is true, is it possible nba is holding back until after the game tonight is over?

what game tonight, the Bruins game?

Clippers have really twisted this and taken all the leverage. Doc isn't coming back to Boston after this, period.

Extremely relevant. Those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Nothing could materialize out of all this and Pierce, KG and Doc may be back next year trying to win a title in Boston. And the only people who's feelings are going to be hurt in the whole scenario are those fans that somehow got so personally involved that they changed their opinions of Doc or Danny or Wyc or KG or whomever over business negotiations that led to nothing!!

I know your not particularly religious, Nick, but can I get an Amen!

Seriously, if things fall apart and C's fans are going to be bitter over this and not still root for the guys, I'm appalled.

Whether the deal goes through or not people will be unhappy with the letdown. While it's hard to do, the deal needs to be evaluated on it's own, not compared to the rumored deal that, for all we know, was never even discussed.
