To DeAndre Jordan
I don't see a better alternative that a team would be willing to give up for kg and Pierce.

My point is, I'd rather have the cap space than the player.  Jordan is not a player a rebuilding team should be spending $10m on.

Completely agree. KG is as productive if not more than Jordan is and he offers a ton more intangibles to the team than DeAndre is.

Plus he's on the hook for thr same money for more years. I hate trading KG but if we really, really have to, we better more than DeAndre and Bledsoe.

Why do people keep talking like we are stuck with Jordan forever?

It's not like he is one of those horrific contracts that nobody wants to take on. He is overpaid, but he is also 7ft and 24 and could probably put up 10/10 with starter minutes.

If we are rebuilding we don't need immediate cap space. We need flexibility to make moves as they come along and to collect as many assets as possible.

If we want 2014 cap room (which is what we would get with KG retiring) we can just trade Jordan for expiring contracts at the deadline. Otherwise we hold onto him for a year and he becomes an expiring deal making him even more trade-able at the deadline if we are so inclined.

Right, he would be our Center next year and then an expiring contract the next. If this trade happens then we might as well keep him and develop him. Treat Rondo with the Rose treatment and get a pick in a deep draft the next year.

Basically do this trade, be bad next year for a high pick, and then in 2014/2015 have a ton of assets to go after a big name guy.

With Rondo (on expiring), Green, Bradley, Sully, Fab, Jordan (on expiring), the 2014 lotto pick and the rookie we get this year we would the ammunition needed to be able to make some moves and field a very very competitive team.

Rebuild...We were five hundred with a veteran team this year. Two choices.....Rebuild with a veteran team or rebuild with a young team. Hire Larry Brown he would be good with young team. Eventually hire Kevin Garnett to coach 'em. Doc Rivers and Mark Blount did not change the celtics culture. KG did....

how about cap room and a better draft pick.  I have to think DeAndre is one of the most overrated players in the league.

I don't want to trade KG, but if I did, I'd consider leaving Deandre Jordan out and asking for Butler, Bledsoe, the draft rights to their 2013 selection (the trade being made official after the draft to work around the Stepien rule), and completely unprotected picks for 2014 and 2016.

I would really want an unprotected pick that would presumably be after a season where KG would no longer be a Clipper on the premise that there is a decent shot that the Clippers gonna be the Clippers and are completely screwed up by then.  That excites me more than getting a non-lottery 2014 first-round pick.

1. Capspace only matters if you're signing a FA that year vs. the opportunity cost of having capspace when DeAndre's contract expires. Because Jordan himself is a trade piece AND you also get a low first rounder.

2. If you're not contending for a championship why do you want to win? Especially when Wiggins, Randle, and Parker are in the 2014 draft? You're going to let ego prevent you from positioning yourself for the next Lebron? Okay.

Something is better than nothing.   I would want picks with Jordan and Bledsoe for KG and Doc.

These guys are not great by any means but if do this we are tank mode.   If we get a superstud then these average guys are either assets or nice complimentary pieces.

Disagree 100%. I'd rather Garnett retire and get the cap space than trade him for a mediocre (and big contract) talent like Jordan.
