I made a separate thread for this.

Brad Stevens is my replacement coach. He made a not very talented Butler team and maximized whatever talent they have to be competitive even against the major programs in NCAA. He has that thing where he can make players play to their absolute best.

I want him, I'm driving his bandwagon from now on just like I drove Brandon Rush's and Jason Smith's.

Given the ex-Celtics fetish, what about Ed Pinckney?

He's interviewed twice with the Grizzlies, although some think he is being considered for a lead assistant coach role rather than the top job.

He's been an assistant under Tom Thibodeaux for the past three seasons, so he can continue the same style of defense.  He was initially hired to coach big men, which might help with Fab Melo and if the Celtics draft a big.  He has a reputation for "good rapport with players", whatever that means.  As a player who twice was in the top ten in offensive rebounding percentage, perhaps he will be a godsend to people who hated Doc's rebounding principles.

And it is perhaps delicious if Ainge hires a guy he was once traded for.

For those who want a cheap, inexperienced coach who can grow with the team, Pinckney sounds like an option.

I just don't see how Lionel Hollins couldn't be a better fit right now. He has postseason experience and is a hard-nosed defensive-oriented coach. In addition to that, he's a solid player development guy and helped that core of Conley/Randolph/Gasol flourish over the years. He handles personalities well and is a no-nonsense coach, and is one of the few I think will actually get along with Rondo and maximize his abilities. So, not only would Hollins be ideal once we start talking deep postseason runs again, he'd be a great bridge while we rebuild as well. I will be very disappointed if he isn't the next Celtics head coach.

I'm hoping it's Danny.  Ainge has the experience to do it, knows the players, & it would be a cheap option for the organization to do it.  I want him as the GM still as well.

Once McHale becomes available next year or the year after, that's when Danny passes it on over to him (although the Rockets have said they won't let him leave).

Hollins, Shaw, or Frank would all be decent options as well.

Sad that we couldn't get Clifford Ray as an assistant...If how Big Al and Perk progressed under him is any indication.....Cousins is a budding superstar in Sacramento.
