For those wondering if this thread is a joke you have to understand, its not. Smitty has a thing against good coaches that can develop talent and consistently get their team to go farther in the playoffs than they should. He just doesn't like coaches like that.

There is a big contradiction among facts, the roster and the coach abilities. Indys have one of 2-3 the best teams in NBA, and maybe the best 5 starting line up. East Conference is not strong enough and Indys had a chance to go the the finals. So...Where is the coach difference than? Does Vogel makes the best possible job to win the NBA championship in next 2-3 years?? No...

I was NOT asking for Green to play substantial minutes.  I SAID to play him and see if he was on.  If he is "on" he can score 10 points in 10 minutes.  My point was that when Indy went try offensively to simply give him a look.

Well if you have an all time choke with 3 seconds left it doesn't really matter. Theres no way that vogel thought George was going to play defense like a 16 year old high school player.

Watching that clip over and over again is comical. Especially when you factor in his comments about wanting to make Lebron take a jumper.

Could he have honestly played it any worse? Besides tripping with an acl tear and not being able to move that was as bad as it gets

He did still blow the defense on the play (though it was a great, if simple, move by LeBron).

The Pacers overachieved.  There is no blame to put on anyone.

They need a PG before they can be a true contender, to me.

In game coaching is probably about 5% of a coach's job. Tops.

Vogel's players lost this series, not Vogel. You want to know why? because they are not good enough to beat Miami. They just don't have the players.

So, yes, I will agree with your statement that Indy won't win a title with Vogel as coach because I honestly don't believe they have that elite player or players that win championships. George and Hibbert are nice players but not elite and probably only Detroit in 2004 was the only team over the last 30 years or more to win a ring without an elite player.

So chances are your prediction will come true.

Meh.  If Miami has proven anything these past couple years... it's that they have an on/off switch.  They let the Pacers take them 6 last year when they had no business taking them to 6.  They let a mediocre Boston team take a 3-2 lead over them before finally waking up and taking them to the cleaners.    In the regular season this year pretty much every game during their win streak involved them making a huge run in the second half to take a lead.   Our game against them was a great example... Jeff Green goes for 40+, Miami flips a switch and takes over.  Most of their games were like that.   Now in the playoffs... Indiana takes it to 7... was there any doubt Miami was going to wipe the floor with them? 

You can't blame Vogel... it's just Miami's style.  They flip the switch when they need to.

Just checking if we remember us going to Game 7 in 2008 vs the Hawks and Cavs, teams we were much better than.

I still consider that one of the best teams I've ever seen play.  How long the series happen to go doesn't tell you about the team a ton, if this is mean to be a criticism.

That's a pretty major switch to make. Most coaches never win a championship, so pretty safe bet.
