I am not a PC person at all.
I think a lot of you though fail to realize that he's speaking as an employee on the podium. The NBA doesn't want that kind of language, so they fined him.
If he says it on his own time, that's his deal and I would be the first person to argue against a fine.
If I said this at my job, I'd be fired for it almost certainly.
The statement was also offensive. Maybe not to you (I know I am hardly offended by anything at this point) but it is offensive. Case closed on that.
Also, it's not the same as "that's what she said". "That's what she said" is directionless and pointless. "No homo" is based in avoiding being seen as gay for whatever you said, thus saying there is something wrong with being gay. Granted, his use was not aimed at anyone, and was used in a way almost as pointless as "that's what she said" but regardless, he used the phrase and he shouldn't on a podium.
Thats what she said is a phrase used to direct what could be a sexual inuendo at the female population as a whole as something they are interested in sexually. Its pretty much the same thing.
No Homo is taking a sexual innuendo implying it would be something the gay population would be interested in, but you as a straight male are not interested in.
