The closer I look at Sully's advanced stats from last year, the more I'm thinking I might have underrated his potential.  The kid might be a starter some day.  I'd hang onto him unless we can get an obvious upgrade.

Millsap is obviously better than any PF we currently have on our team (aside from KG... who we're forcing to play Center).  He's undersized, but he's a quality defender.  Utah has a plethora of quality bigs.  Millsap, Big Al, Favors and Kanter.  Favors and Kanter are the future of that team.   Favors is a future star.  Big Al is already an all-star.  So there's only so many minutes...

Favors had the highest defensive rating on that team, but Millsap was 2nd.  You figure having to feed minutes to so many bigs is part of the reason Millsap only averaged 30 minutes.  He actually has the highest "win shares per 48 minutes" on the team.

If you look at his stats per 36 minutes they were:

17 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.2 blocks 49% shooting

Quality player.  Are we talking about trading for him or is the idea that we can sign him with the MLE?  If you're not looking at advanced stats, it's hard to rationalize giving big money to a guy who on paper looks like he averages 14 points, 7 rebounds... and is only 6'8 245 pounds.

Utah Needs guards, have to assume it would be centred around Bradley... I'm a fan of Millsap but who knows what it would take to get a deal done.

To me , I rather see what we have in Sully as a starter...

We did see what we have in Sully last year, an out of shape forward with a bad back that only lasted half a season

Give me Millsap!

Truthfully, this may be the most ignorant and wrong-headed assessment of Sullinger's rookie season that I have seen.

For me the best option is Big Al, Millsap is a good player, great rebounder, but Jefferson is more decisive.

And, plenty of guys who turned out to be just OK, or worse:

Pachulia
Sean Williams
JR Reid

Funny, but Perk makes the list, as does Thomas Robinson.

I definitely wasn't blown away by him.  Seemed to be picked at the right spot.  But he probably does have potential to improve seeing as he's only 20.

To me the big takeaway from that list is that nearly all of the players on that list had legit NBA careers, and more than half are starters.

If Sully's back holds up I think it's safe to project him as a solid rotation guy or better, which rates as excellent performance from a #20 pick in the draft.

well said  ......... I think he will be even better,  he says he'll be able to play and finally jump without out pain .  I believe we'll see a new and improved Sully ,  lighter, faster, no more flat footed rebounding.   I looking for flat out a monster on the boards .  If we only had Cousins to go with Sully and Green and KG.  Oh well...dreaming again.
