"Everyone knows that they covet Paul Millsap"

Asked what Plan A would be for the Celtics, she said Millsap

Also said she expects KG back for another year...

Utah Needs guards, have to assume it would be centred around Bradley... I'm a fan of Millsap but who knows what it would take to get a deal done.

saw this posted on realgm

To me , I rather see what we have in Sully as a starter...

Yea I'd much rather role with Sullinger and see what he has then committ something like $40mill to Milsap.

Millsap would be fantastic. A top ten PF in the league.

Keep Sully in a bench role. Bring in a useful backup center. Strong big man rotation.

If they want AB, why would we not get Al Jefferson instead? More of a center, which is what we need, right?

this is so stupid
i wouldn't get millsap unless kg was gone
...

im no big al fan, but at least go after that guy who's bigger
we have bass and sully...i'm sure sully could avg millsap numbers on a rookie contract

unless we're packaging bass for a bigman and even then, that means ure getting rid of who? jeff green? then who's backing up paul??? not unless we give up another guard...and then..man...idk but ive seen DA pull of some things

I think a starting power forward is more of a priority than a starting center. Someone who can keep up the team's defensive quickness which Millsap can certainly do.

Top 10 PF?

He averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds this past season and has a career average of 12 points and 7 rebounds.

Not saying he's a bum or anything but no way am I giving this guy $10+mill a season.

He's essentially a rich mans Brandon Bass.

No way Utah going to keep 4 big men {Favors, Jefferson, Millsap, Enes) so hopefully C's be able to nab one
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
YES!
I love Millsap and he would be perfect for our team.
He's better for us than Al Jeff because he can run the floor and more importantly he keeps KG at the 4 and let's Green play small forward. The Heat also struggle to guard him-he's torched them throughout his career. Playing with Rondo and KG we could have an all star on our hands. The kid is still young (28?) And is a banger under glass. Averages just under 10 rebounds a game and that's sharing the paint with Big Al.

Now clear Pierce for Dallas' pick.
Sign a decent shooting guard on a shorter deal or sign a younger player with potential.
Sign Millsap.

Starting 5 that could get to the ECF if we we're lucky.

Rondo
Redick(averages 20ppg with Rondo passing to him)
Green
Millsap
KG

Not sure what other shooting guards are available but we could also move Bass and Lee or something similar for a solid 2 guard. I still think Redick would be enough if we are running it back one more year. Less so if we don't run it back but if you can get him for 3 years 20ish million he'd be good value. I said in another thread the reason Danny likes him is because he stretches floor like Ray Allen and really hasn't ever played with a pass first PG. Last year he averages 17.2 points and 5 assists per 36 mins. With Rondo finding him and KG and Millsap kicking out to him he'd have a good shot at scoring 18-20ppg and draining some clutch threes in 32-36 minutes per game.

Sully, Lee, Terry, Bass off bench.
Need one more big man though. Need to draft a ready to roll big man or pick someone up.
We'll need multiple bigs to help KG AND Millsap because the Bulls, Pacers, Spurs and Grizzlies are going to be threats with size that we'll have to get through at some point.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

So, how would we get him here?  I'm not seeing a realistic sign-and-trade.

Sully looked like he could be a quality starter for Boston but the Celtics need a bigger upgrade to their big man rotation than just adding a backup center.

So I think a starting quality big needs to be brought in to play alongside Garnett with Sullinger playing in a bench role.

So for me the question is who should start alongside Garnett? A power forward or a center? I prefer a power forward if talent levels are comparable since I think Garnett is better at the five than the four.
