Sign me up with Jamal Franklin.

He is a tad smaller, about three inches.   He is one of those great risk/reward guys.

Quote
NBA Comparison: Will Barton/Hassan Adams

Strengths: Franklin was the head of the snake for SDSU’s attack on both ends of the court ... Standout length and activity level from the wing position ... High school high jumper. An explosive leaper off one-foot behind a head of steam ... Scoring average soared from 2.9 as a redshirt freshman to 17 as a junior, with feel for the action maturing dramatically in a short period of time ... Excellent mid-range stoke was on full display during opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament, off the dribble and the catch ... Innate cleverness finding buckets in the lane; uses his body to create release angles and cut off angles for defenders to disrupt ... Deceptive strength hiding behind those long sleeves- arrived on campus at 165 lbs. currently up to 205 ... Initiates and sells contact, gets to the free throw line nearly 7 times per game and converts there ... 38% score efficiency in ISO situations, specifically driving right from the top of the key (62%) ... Exhibits high IQ moving away from the ball, thriving as a slasher/cutter/lob recipient ... He has a knack for making plays in late clock situations and simply “finding a way”. The 28th leading rebounder in the nation at 9.5 per game, tied for 2nd amongst guards. Rebound and push. Did a better job of keeping his head up on penetration and finding open teammates as a junior (3.3 APG). A high-energy defender with alluring physical traits and 2/3 position versatility. He utilizes his length to play passing lanes aggressively (1.6 SPG). Despite being a master of nothing, brings many positive attributes to the floor ... He will turn 22 in July ...

Weaknesses: Some scouts question how well Franklin's game translates to the NBA level ... Described by detractors as a wild, undersized (6'5) combo forward that overpowers lesser athletes for mostly garbage baskets ... Doesn't seem to be able to fully utilize his explosiveness in game situations (with contact) ... A far less dynamic athlete with ball in hand. Dribbles too upright and has difficulty turning the corner against pressure ... He gets by defenders as a result of length more so than elite quickness ... Does not convince that he possesses full trust in his handles or off-the-dribble repertoire ... Too much settling: 33% of isolation opportunities resulted in a jumper (not including pull-ups); despite shooting just 28% from three-point range attempted 4.5 per game ... Often forced into bizarre shot selection because of inefficient team offense ... Jump shot lacks elevation with feet spread far apart ... Surprisingly inefficient in transition at 0.9 PPP when commanding the break ... Not a natural playmaker and frequently careless (3.4 TO) when taking matters into his own hands ... His breakdown skills are unlikely to translate to the NBA level. Becoming a more consistent spot up shooting threat (30.1% FG) will be required to accompany his potential as a perimeter defender ... Length enables him to hound the ball, but lateral quickness and change of direction are average ... On court incident flipping off a fan, and reports came out (on college website) that he actually flipped off a ref after a charge call, which he denied, during first half of New Mexico game. Incident has not helped his cause as a character guy. Something he will no doubt have to account for during interview process ... His interviews will likely be instrumental in whether or not he lands in first round ...

Notes: Considered a boderline first round pick by NBA scouts .

Lots of good there and lot's of bad.   Does sounds like the kind of guy Ainge, likes, a guy who can play ball without a position.

I read that Jamal Franklin outplayed McLemore at a workout. In Phoenix I think it was.

Edit: I remembered that wrong. Quote was that Franklin was more impressive in a workout rather than he went head to head and outplayed McLemore. My mistake.

Quote
“His lack of preparation for the draft is hurting him,” Ford writes at ESPN.com. “Multiple sources told me that his workout in Phoenix was not impressive; he wasn’t in shape, and he struggled to keep up in the workout. I heard similar things in Orlando. McLemore is in a tug-of-war right now between adviser Rodney Blackstock and his agency, Rivals. It’s kept McLemore out of the gym and, for the most part, out of workouts. How much will all of this affect the draft stock? I’m told teams are worried. But how worried? Enough for one of the most talented players in the draft to slide further?”

Kotoch wrote: “McLemore’s troubles stem from his inner circle and poor conditioning. McLemore has not been impressive at workouts in Phoenix or Cleveland. One executive who watched McLemore said ‘Jamaal Franklin looked like a better prospect than him, and he’s still recovering from a sprained ankle.’”

The following is chad fords tier 5 for this draft. Tiers 1,2 didn't have a single player 3,4 had twelve. Tier 5 has 25, in most drafts 5 is solid late first round pick and 6 are boarder line firsts. It will be interesting to see who the Cs don't work out from this list..

******************************************************************************

Tier 5

Players:
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Reggie Bullock
Isaiah Canaan
Allen Crabbe
Gorgui Dieng
Jamaal Franklin
Rudy Gobert
Archie Goodwin
Erick Green
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Pierre Jackson
Sergey Karasev
Shane Larkin
Ricardo Ledo
C.J. Leslie
Tony Mitchell
Shabazz Muhammad
Lucas Nogueira
Kelly Olynyk
Mason Plumlee
Glen Rice Jr.
Dennis Schroeder
Tony Snell
Jeff Withey
Nate Wolters

Note from ford: This next group is the largest Tier 5 I've ever had, and it shows where the strength of the draft is. There is incredible depth here, and it's not uncommon to hear teams say that the player you draft at No. 35 might be as good as the player you get at No. 15. There is a whopping 25 players in this group. At least seven of these players won't hear their names called in the first round.

A few teams had Antetokounmpo, Karasev, Muhammad and Nogueira in Tier 4, but not quite enough for them to make the cut. Interestingly, Ledo got two votes for Tier 4 and is a guy who clearly has been impressing people in

Interested late workout featuring 3 3nd round picks. Some experts are wondering if this is a sign of a trade for a late 2nd to come. Could also just be working out guys for summer league roster.

notes of those players

Lamont "momo" Jones, seems to me to be a volume scoring PG

Jamal Olasewere, I actually watched him play alot. I had ties to his LIU team so saw quit a bit of him. He played a Jeff Green like 3/4 role for LIU but is clearly a 3 at the next level. He has good size and length for a 3 6'6 218lb 6'11" wingspan and has the athleticism to be an NBA wing. He just needs to add more ball skill and keep developing his 3pt shot.

Jake Cohen, statistically really surprised me averaged 15pts 5rb 1.5 blks in only 25min per game. He measured out really well for a stretch 4 6'9.5" with out shoes so really 6'11, has 6'11 wingspan and 9' reach. He also had some really good games against good teams, end of 11-12 season 24pt 10rb against lousiville, this past year 20pts vs Marquete in a 1 pt lost in first round. He could be a sleeper. http://espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=320750097

just added a few names per Alex Kennedy of hoopsworld.

from the additions Ray McCallum stands out to me. He has highly recruited out of high school but went to Detriot. Seems to have an NBA body, decent PG size and a well rounded game. A side not I saw that Scal was talking him up on twitter!

A lot of work outs for a team with one first rounder. Wonder what Danny boy has up his sleeve.

Well looking back ever player the Cs picked up was on the Workout List.

Kelly Olynyk, I like the pick and am interested in the fact that DA think he can play stretch 4. If Melo pans out the Cs have a nice 3 big rotation with Melo (athletic rim protector), Sully (physical rebounding bruiser) and Kelly (finesse offensive stretch big)

Colton Iverson, big strong center with great size (9'2 standing reach). I like the fact that he is 263 pounds and had to gain this weight in college not work to keep it down like so many big men have to. For being picked so late I totally expect colton to be a back up NBA center for a long time.

Lamont MoMo Jones, NYC scoring guard. Alot of talent for an Undrafted FA. He should be in a good competition with Pressy for a roster spot.

Phil Pressey, small past first point guard who shoots the ball well and put up great assist numbers in college.
