This is just an observation: I'd imagine this year's #1 pick has considerably less value that those of year's past, if only because there isn't really a consensus #1 pick, nor is there a franchise-changer in the making.
That being said, I'm sure CLE could find a suitor that would offer them a [dang] good deal for the pick, but I'm not surprised they're trying to move it. As much as I like Noel's potential on the defensive end, I don't really see him as being worth another year of tanking for CLE. It appears Irving is getting tired of losing, and I don't think CLE can afford to suffer through another year of futility if they hope to keep him.
If they do keep the pick and draft Noel (who probably won't be back until December), I like their future. However, I think the Cavs front office has to be thinking, "What can we do to win (or at least, be competitive) now?"
