I'm firmly convinced that players who don't have the mental makeup to handle some time on the bench are ultimately too fragile to be able to be difference makers in the long run.
Ray Allen
Exactly..TP there....!!! Defending the dumb decision to continually sit guys you sign is a sign of some mental disorder..or some GOD complex.....!!!
Except Allen is coming off the bench in Miami, in quite a diminished role, and doing just fine. Don't confuse a grudge with Rajon Rondo with inability to handle a role.
Well, a grudge is a sign of maturity and professionalism ..isn't it.....remember all the times Rondo didn't pass to ray-ray...ya...me neither...!
I didn't say anything about maturity or professionalism. This is still completely irrelevant to my argument.
Or to explain in more detail: Ray Allen took his to demotion to the bench in stride, never said anything to the media or skipped a beat on the court. Maybe he handled his exit from Boston like another word for a donkey, but that's still completely irrelevant.
Darko, on the other hand, pretty much whined himself out of town because he was a DNP for a handful of games. Not only is it a completely different situation, it is also illustrative about a completely different type of mental makeup. Story of Darko's career, he folds at the first sign of adversity (cue in certain post-game interview from FIBA play).
