I'm both, but if Pierce can take a discount that'll make KG stay and we can probably get someone like Josh Smith or a similar caliber.

Then improve the bench. So I voted for Option A. Wow, it's 50-50.

25 to 25, Celtic nation is totally torn on this issue. Which is about where we were during the trade deadline. Folks are not swayed by the early exit.

Keep it together PLEASE, Danny.

We need to bring in another backup SF for Pierce, since Jeff Green has earned a starting job.

I'd say change VERY little...the two main cogs we need already wore Celtics Green (Rondo and Sully).

NY Knicks have a Shallow Victory...I hope their sorry butts lose to Indy. ;D

We get Rondo and Sully back, bring in a backup SF (may be Lee?), keep Jet, perhaps a decent (but not break the bank) big, and run this thing back.....let Rondo cut loose with Jeff and AB in the starting lineup, and let the wily vets Pierce and KG remain in Green.

Run it back, Danny! Don't break this up...no need to.

The strategy of DA is to follow the retirement of KG and PP, helping them to apply for pension plan

I'd keep it together. Only for ONE more year (how many more one more years are we gonna have to go through, right?)

Whats worse than being a terrible team? Being a terrible team thats in cap hell. Thats what we would be next year anyway without these two for the most part.

I would first attempt to trade Bradley + Lee + pick for Verajao. Then I would sign a veteran PG for the minimum. Then I'd leave the roster mostly intact. With that roster, we'd have a decent regular season, and hopefully who knows, maybe we can make a miracle run in the playoffs like we did last year.

The hope is that not only do we  have a successfull season, but Terry and Bass have much better seasons to make their trade value go back up. So in the offseason we unload Terry, we unload Bass, Pierce is up, Garnett most likely retires. We have LOADS of cap room for a very good free agent class, with great young talent coming off rookie deals. (Greg Monroe!)

Let the rebuild begin. After next year.

Assuming there's no market for Pierce, I'd keep it together. Have him opt out, and give him a 3 year $30m deal.  Move Lee for a backup big.

Get lucky in the draft.

Look at the teams still in the playoffs. West was picked 18th, Hibbert 17th, Hill 26th, Stevenson 40th.  Shumpert was picked 17th, JR Smith 18th. The Bulls have Butler, picked 30, and Gibson, 26th, strengthening their rotation.  The Warriors have three rookie draft picks playing serious minutes, two of them picked 30, Ezeli, and 35th, Green. mark Jackson calls all three of them grown men, and he's right.

If the Cs had the benefit of a full year of Sullinger, and picked either Draymond Green  or Festus Ezeli with their other first round pick, they'd still be  playing right now.  DA needs to nail it with the 18th pick, getting a guy that fits for this team and can step in right away, a la Sully.

KG was one of the best bits in the playoffs.  Pierce struggled because he's not a point forward who can conduct offense for 40 mpg anymore. Put a top PG next to him to run the team, and Pierce is still one of the top 20% at his position.  Green has shown that he can be an efficient 20 ppg scorer.  Bass is a capable bench PF, who has the added benefit of covering power SFs/fake PFs like Melo. Sullinger, if healthy, gives the team the rebounder and paint presence they need, despite being a bit undersized.

If the Cs can snag a couple of ring chasers for the veteran minimum, they absolutely could make another run with this squad.  The alternative, cutting loose Pierce and forcing KG and probably Doc into retirement, sends the Cs into lotto hell.

I was in favor of moving on at the trade deadline, if DA could have gotten something like Jordan and Bledsoe for KG and a young wing like Harrison Barnes and scraps for Pierce.  With Westbrook's injury, the West opened up, and the Clips would have had a great chance of going to the Finals with KG this year, and would have had ring chasers lining up to got here this summer for the vet-min. The Warriors would be better poised to Knock off the Spurs, and would have had a crunch time vet to settle them down in close games.  Now I don't favor the rebuild because Ainge probably can't get much back for either PP or KG, and they both are top six guys at their positions.

KG might do the blowing up for Ainge if he retires.  As long as the year must have been, physically and mentally and the multiple injuries he picked up, I can't see KG putting himself through another season.  In that case, I'd assume Pierce is definitely let go.  The cap situation still wouldn't leave much room for any significant additions and the roster as then constituted would be bound for the upper-half of the lottery.  I'd be shocked the Celtics didn't rate in the 20s in both offensive and defensive efficiency.

What's the upside of hoping KG returns and Pierce is brought back?  They're not going to be able to make enough changes to improve the offense or become a solid rebounding team.  The upside doesn't appear too great and the downside is that they miss out on getting a high pick in what could be a very talented draft.

If KG retires, I think Doc definitely follows suit. Without having the ability to absurdly divide up KG's minutes, I don't think Doc will have the will to keep coaching on.

Regardless of whether KG comes back or not I'd look into getting DeMarcus Cousins in green.

Keep it together.  Hasn't Boston had its fill of things being blown up this year?

You need those types of fans to keep people in the seats and so the Celtics stay on TV (nationally). If we only relied on the fans who are fans no matter what, then the Celtics will always have a lot of empty seats and few games on TV because those fans make up what is probably a large majority of who watches them on TV. How many time do you see Bobcats games on TV other than the very few times they play a good team.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

you speak eth  the truth   ,    Celtics have huge TV /world wide appeal,   we need REAL stars to keep the deal going.   KG is a huge draw .....I wouldn't go see a bunch of rookies and scrubs play....everybody is dreaming if you think another Blake Griffin is gonna get drafted by the Celtics.

Rondo and maybe KG are the keys to rebuilding . They have star appeal .

Just don't see anything happening soon...Doc won't even commit to returning, so until we have him back who is to say what Pierce and KG will do.

DA is not going to know where to start till Doc , KG and PP make some firm decisions

KG remains the cornerstone of this franchise and the guy who gives the Celtics a chance to be an upper echelon team.  Lose him and you blow it up.  Keep him and make one more run at it.
