It's no coincidence that the Cs best playoff game so far coincided with Jordan Crawford getting a DNP-CD.

I have no big issue one way or another with the post game trash talk.  It's been part of basketball for a long time, and the Knicks had some coming to them after the funeral attire BS.  I would have preferred any verbal message to be delivered by someone who wasn't a spectator at the game.  the real message was already sent during it.

It looked to me that the comment was aimed at Melo. Felton jumped in to defend him.  Whether they go for 70 points combined or for 30 on Friday will have nothing to do with any Game 5 post game comments.

I think your first statement is absolutely ridiculous. Crawford has barely played this series and has had no real impact negative or positive in any games.

It probably helped scaling Bradleys minutes way back more than anything that helped last night. Talk about someone who has hurt us more than anyone else in this series

I love Avery but I have to agree, it was about playing someone else than him.  Crawford instead of Avery probably would have helped too.  He is a productive player.

Not sure what it is with Avery... I'd understand him getting bodied some by Felton but he's straight up blowing past him a lot.
"I really don't want people to understand me." - Jordan Crawford

People are upset at Crawford, but he almost turned into a genius, if not for his teammates and Doc ruining it.

Crawford talks trash to Carmelo/Felton, he gets in a fight with one or both of them.  They're all suspended for Game 6.  Which teams comes out on top of that exchange?  I'd sacrifice Crawford for Carmelo and/or Felton any day of the week.  So close, his devious plan almost worked.   ;D

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

He's classless. According to the twittersphere Crawford made an inappropriate comment about Melo's wife. Moron.

So did KG. Is he a moron?

I am way less bothered by it from KG.

It's trash talking in sports. Happens all the time. I don't mind it from KG, Crawford, or anyone.

Superstars can talk trash, because they can back it up.  Scrubs who get DNP-CDs, though?  They should keep their mouths shut and wave a towel, M.L. Carr style.

Exactly.

Send Crawford and Melo packing after the season.

Superstars can talk trash, because they can back it up.  Scrubs who get DNP-CDs, though?  They should keep their mouths shut and wave a towel, M.L. Carr style.

Also KG talks trash when he is on the basketball court as a tactic to get in the other player's head and gain a competitive advantage - once he steps off the court he is always 100% respectful.  I have never heard KG make a rude comment about any other player either before the tip or after the final buzzer.

That's just uncessesary.

This is a big part of why I like Williams out there over Crawford.  I trust me a lot more to keep a level head on the court, and I also trust him not to shoot us out of games with contsted 25-foot three pointers 4 seconds into the shot clock.

I do like Crawford and he certainly has talent - I like seeing him get some minutes in regular season games and maybe the rare playoff moments when we just need to shake things up.  I think he still has a lot to learn (both attitude and in terms of his play) before we give him significant minutes in playoff games though.

I also notice Fab Melo got up and started to get into the oppositions face - Doc yelled furiously at him to get back to the locker room, almost like he was sending a school kid to sit in the corner.

Fab is the type of kid who I think could go great or not-so-great depending on how he is influenced...I'd like to see him pick up traits from Pierce and KG rather than pick up this type of thing from Crawford.

Not that this is relevant to this thread but since ML was brought up, I remember as a kid going to a Mavericks/Celtics game back in the mid or early 80s, and in the pregame warmups ML Carr bounced a ball from the free throw line, off the backboard, caught it in the air, and reverse slammed it with two hands.

I thought that was the most incredible thing I'd ever seen anyone do, so naturally I thought ML was a superstar player.  Its amazing how good and athletic the towel wavers are in the NBA.

Later in high school I saw a Bobby Knight coaching video on shooting with Steve Alford.  Alford was doing shooting drills from mostly the three point line demonstrating shooting drills while Knight was talking about them.  It was a half hour or so video with Alford shooting the whole time, one shot after the other, no editing, one camera shot, and he never missed.  Hit every shot the entire video and I'm not sure he ever got a shot off in the NBA. OK, I'm exaggerating a tad bit, but he was never even a regular rotation player for some pretty bad teams.

These guys are all just amazing at what they do.

Only superstars can talk trash?  I guess everyone who claims that must be glad that Kendrick Perkins, Tony Allen, James Posey and the like are not Celtics (or are they superstars?). The truth is some fans just don't like some players.  That is perfectly okay, but do not have a double standard.  Just because you don't like them doesn't mean that they are doing something wrong.

When asked if he said anything to Anthony, Crawford told the Globe, “Nah, they was talking to me, baby. They was talking to me. Yeah, they like me. I think it’s that smile I keep carrying. I think we’re playing freely, not thinking as much.”

Crawford didn’t play in the game.

“I don’t know what happened,” he said. “I don’t know what happened, you know what I’m saying? I was on the bench the whole game, I don’t know why they was talking to me.

“They gotta be upset, their [expletives] tightening up. Of course they upset.”

I'd prefer him not to do it but not a big deal and absolutely don't care that he isn't a superstar or that having anything to do with it.

I'd actually be a lot more peeved if KG or Pierce were doing that after the game.

In the end it doesn't mean anything. The knicks didn't lose and we didn't win because the knicks wore black. JR smith wasn't cold because he talked crap.

At the end of the day its basketball so I don't read into the enormous amount of play that situations like these get. If anything I at least find it entertaining

If Perk, Tony, or Posey were talking trash after the buzzer in a game where they didn't play a minute, then yeah, they'd deserve the criticism.

Also, those guys were at least role players.  Crawford is a scrub.  It's more like if Gabe Pruitt was talking smack.

Thank you. Was hoping this Crawford would not show up in a Celtics uniform. Is an embarrassment, especially after you just schooled the Knicks for punking you. Enough said. No place for that kind of stuff. Especially from a punk like Crawford. Too bad I was just getting to like him; but hope Doc comes down hard on him.

This thread might be closed soon. But can we get off this thing about Melo's wife already? LaLa is bad and everything but chill out. If you look at tha GIF, tha last word wasnt "wife". Tha last fives words I got from what he said was "Before I **** you up". Crawford is irrelevant to Melo and his Wife anyway (and vice versa) so why would Crawford even mention anything about LaLa? What's reported isn't always true.

This shouldn't have happened in tha first place but we have no idea what was done or said between Crawford, Felton, or Melo before, during, or after tha game. So why is Crawford taking most of tha heat on this? KG talks trash too and we love him for it so what's tha difference? Bird's done it as well but because Crawford is younger and a former Wizard he's 'stupid', 'classless', and should be kicked off tha team? Get off tha boo boo. I may be tha minority but I like Crawford as a Celtic.

Nothing should have been said at all but like I said we don't know what sparked that situation. I don't have a problem with this situation at all. Players do this all tha time. I like tha chippyness. I even liked it when Rondo at Kris Kardashian. Doc had me dying when he got at Fab tho. He wasn't havin it. I can't believe this thread is 7 pages deep because of this tho.

Yeah this looks more like it to me but it is still debatable. Tough to tell but I see nothing about wife in there anywhere.
