He is the best big man in the game.

I used to think so, but am in no way convinced of this now.

At this point I'd put M.Gasol and Noah ahead of him for certain.  There's also quite a few PF's I'd rather have as well.

$20m for Howard is looking like a bad investment.

I would like you to name one thing that Gasol/Noah are better than Dwight Howard at and please back this up with numbers.

Free throws?

This would be the only way I would be on board to get DH.  Use him as trade fodder to pull in someone else (or multiple players) to build around.

I don't think that the C's would get good value from giving the max to Dwight.  Too much drama, too much about himself, never about his team, his coach or his team mates.  Obviously a talented player, but one who doesn't seem interested in maximizing his talent, nor 100% committed to winning championships.

I agree, lets get Dwight.

No way in a millon years I'd want him to actually play a game in a Celtic uniform, but with Dwight Howard PLUS all of the young guys we have we would have no trouble at all swinging a major trade that would get us the all-star calibre player we truly need.

Think about all the guys we've been begging for all season - Josh Smith, Demarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson, Marcin Gortat.  If we signed Dwight somehow we could easilly trade him and get any one of those guys (plus useful filler) in return.

Not throwing their coach under the bus and messing up team chemistry?

The Lakers were already a mess.

And didn't Kobe do most of the throwing of others under the bus.

The throwing the coach under the bus is more from his Orlando fiasco.  Coming out and giving Van Gundy a hug right after Stan found out that Dwight asked for him to be fired.

But he has had his share of not-getting-along drama with the lakers as well.  I live in so cal and I am honestly sick of all the drama and I don't even follow the lakers.

We could add offensive rebounds per game as well.  Noah is ahead of him in that category.

Technically speaking Dwight hits more free throws than either of them. Cuz just shoots a lot more of them.

I'd much rather have Andre Drummond than Dwight Howard. Same size, athleticism, and skill, much better attitude, IQ, and health, and is significantly younger and on a rookie contract.

He will soon be at the very least as productive as Dwight if not more.

This team ned a great defender and rebounder in order to be a top team. DW12 is still young. Signing him you have a great future for the team for at least 5-6 years

Dwight is 8 years older than Drummond, and costs much, much more than him. Drummond is the better investment if you are rebuilding.

The problem is that DW12 is much much better than Drummond...

No, he's not. Drummond's PER as a rookie is better than Howard's as a rookie. As I said before, Drummond has all the physical talents Howard has, and better attitude, IQ, and work ethic. He's already a major defensive presence.

Oh yea, and he's 19.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1517490-just-how-good-can-detroit-pistons-andre-drummond-become

"So if we bring Drummond's minutes per game up to what is customary for a starting center, right around 36 per game, a different picture emerges.

Per 36 minutes, Drummond is averaging over 13 points, close to 14 rebounds, three blocks and nearly two steals.

If we compare those stats with the league leaders, things get really interesting.

With 36 minutes per game, Drummond would be leading the league in rebounding by a wide margin. Dwight Howard is the current leader with just under 12 per game. He also would be second place in blocks, 10th place in steals and would be fourth in field goal percentage with .592.Those aren't just All-Star numbers; those are All-NBA numbers."
