I would love him on our roster, Rondo / Green / Dwight seems like a pretty solid core for the next 5 years.

I think Howard played very good this playoffs and he is one of the best defensive players out there.

His personality... I think we can handle that. If he starts enjoying playing anymore he won't be such a headache. Maybe he does playing with Rondo.

Although I guess we don't have a shot unless PP and KG retire

Get Dwight, say goodbye to KG. He'll retire long before he'll play with that "clown."

And do you really want the guy replacing KG - the guy who most embodies the Celtic spirit - to be Dwight Howard...?

Because he hates the idea of playing next to a defense first big man who can rebound.

And he can't stand guys with personality issues (Marbury, Cassel)

Yes, I want the best big man in the NBA.  I just know it isn't going to happen.

Do any of you Dwight fans honestly think he plays with heart, plays with a brain, works hard on his skills?   Everything I have seen or seen written about Dwight Howard says he is a musclehead he does not practice his skills, worries about his stats, doesn't get along with his fellow players or his coaches.  He is also an evangelical christian who, it is reported, has 5 kids by 5 different mothers.  Dwight Howard is the true definition of a dumbass, is unreliable as a player and the opposite of a Celtic in almost every sense of the name.

I don't see us winning much with that fool on our team.

He lead Orlando to the Finals.

He is the best big man in the game.

Just don't have him be your lockerroom leader.

I wonder if the Lakers would be willing to trade for major cap relief and 1sts.

Pierce, Garnett, Green, 2014 1st (lottery protected), 2016 1st (lottery protected)

for

Howard (sign & trade), Gasol, Artest

That would save the Lakers about 10 million next year (which will be closer to 25-30 million with the luxury tax), as well as get them a couple of 1st's, Green, and will still keep them competitive next year with Kobe and Nash being added to KG, PP, and JG.  The trade could also include other salary like Duhon, Blake, or Hill and Boston could add other value like Melo, Crawford, Sullinger, Bradley, etc. if necessary.

Obviously KG would have to agree to a trade, but it is to LA and he would still be with Pierce so he might actually be willing to do it.

Boston obviously can then pair Rondo and Howard going forward and with Gasol and Artest next year would pose a real challenge to Miami.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Would the C's be under the apron in your scenario Moranis? I think they'd have to be for it to be legal.

I don't think LA does it, they'd rather have Howard and just eat next year to regain flexibility.

Always remember how Perk dominated Dwight..he is not the best big man by a significant margin.  We can come close to his ability with better work ethic, better sense of team and better character.  His offense is limited and he does not work at it.

Let's get him. He's gonna take the MLE for 4 years, right?  ;D

If you belief KG would agree to go to LA (under any circumstance), then I have an ocean front property I would like to sell you.

Also, that's a really bad trade suggestion

I agree, lets get Dwight.

No way in a millon years I'd want him to actually play a game in a Celtic uniform, but with Dwight Howard PLUS all of the young guys we have we would have no trouble at all swinging a major trade that would get us the all-star calibre player we truly need.

Think about all the guys we've been begging for all season - Josh Smith, Demarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson, Marcin Gortat.  If we signed Dwight somehow we could easilly trade him and get any one of those guys (plus useful filler) in return.

This about sums up this thread to me.  We don't want Dwight Howard because he's "not a winner", but we want Josh Smith, Demarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson, and Marcin Gortat.  Those four players definitely have a winning quality that Dwight Howard lacks.  ::)  Cousins and Jefferson combine for 0 playoff wins.  Gortat had some nice playoff runs as Dwight's backup.

He is the best big man in the game.

I used to think so, but am in no way convinced of this now.

At this point I'd put M.Gasol and Noah ahead of him for certain.  There's also quite a few PF's I'd rather have as well.

$20m for Howard is looking like a bad investment.
