Get Dwight, say goodbye to KG. He'll retire long before he'll play with that "clown."

And do you really want the guy replacing KG - the guy who most embodies the Celtic spirit - to be Dwight Howard...?

I think we need to stop pinning our future hopes on a 37 yeard old player on the verge of retirement.

Would the C's be under the apron in your scenario Moranis? I think they'd have to be for it to be legal.

I don't think LA does it, they'd rather have Howard and just eat next year to regain flexibility.
My assumption was that Howard didn't want to return to L.A.  Obviously I think they would rather keep Dwight all things being equal and I can't imagine there would be any trade available that they would do on their own for Dwight.

Not sure where the apron is or where Boston would be post-trade.  Boston could probably trade Lee to Memphis for the trade exception to clear out more salary.  So I think they could get there if they needed to.

If you're GM of the Celtics would you trade KG and Pierce to LA for a S&T of Dwight on a max money contract (5 years, $118 million)?

absolutely.  I wouldn't give it a second thought.

A team with DH/Rondo/Green would be in good shape for years to come.

ball hog?  dwight howard?  huh?  His career average is 11.2 FGA a game and he hits 57.7% of them.  His point per shot for his career is over 1.63 a game and that is with his atrocious 57.7% from the line (for some comparisons Shaq was 1.472, Jordan was 1.314, and Wilt was 1.338).  Dwight Howard needs to shoot the ball more, not less.

He's been in the league for 9 seasons and he's been out of the 1st round 3 times, beyond the 2nd round twice. He's a great player but having him on your roster hardly makes you a contender.

Save for this year, when has he ever had a roster worth a [dang] around him? The year they went to the Finals, Hedo friggen' Turkoglu was the second best player on that team. Hedo!!

He is the best big man in the game.

I used to think so, but am in no way convinced of this now.

At this point I'd put M.Gasol and Noah ahead of him for certain.  There's also quite a few PF's I'd rather have as well.

$20m for Howard is looking like a bad investment.

I would like you to name one thing that Gasol/Noah are better than Dwight Howard at and please back this up with numbers.

Exactly, when Kevin Garnett was traded to the Celtics he had been in the league 12 years, went to the playoffs just 8 times and was only out of the first round 1 time winning just 2 playoff series in his entire career.  I guess that means we shouldn't have acquired him.  I mean clearly he couldn't carry a team to a title.
