I would take him. Can you do a 3 team sign and trade? That would be the only way to get him here. The talent would have to come from somewhere else. But would love to have a core of him and Rondo.

I don't want any part of Dwight. He is a cancer, and has no game to speak of. Pass.

Do what you can to go at him hard. I'm not in love with Dwight's personality or his antics, but he makes almost any team a contender. Pair him with Rondo and you have a legitimate core to start building around.

Exactly my thought.  He automatically makes us a contender.  Just the notion of him and Rondo together gets me salivating...

Do whatever you can to get him

If we do get him, he'll have to deal with the likes of Andrew Bynum, Tyson Chandler, Roy Hibbert, and Joakim Noah in the East.

Good thing Perkins is in the West.

Could anyone else see a Howard for Josh Smith sign-and-trade? Obviously the Hawks give up more than just Smith, but the two frontcourts after the trade look like this:

Lakers:
PF: Smith
C: Gasol

Hawks:
PF: Horford
C: Howard

Could work well for both teams.

man... tonight was a tale of two mentalities, wasn't it?

Boston down 3-0 in a series they can't win... Pierce and KG refusing to lose, gutting it out, giving it their all... carrying their team to a victory so they can at least go out with some dignity.

Lakers down 3-0 in a series they can't win... Dwight gets himself ejected and misses the second half.  Total punk move.  Lets his team get blown out.  Second team he's quit on.  Piece of crap.

I never liked Dwight.  Total piece of crap person, imo.  Dirty player.  He was always too Hollywood.  Concerned with fame and popularity.  Polar opposite of a warrior like Kevin Garnett.

That said, you'd have to trade anyone on this team for Dwight Howard if the opportunity presented itself.  Rondo + Bradley + Sully + Green + draft picks + whatever other scrubs we have on this team.  Doesn't matter.  Pierce and KG are likely retiring.  At the end of the day, Dwight HOward is still a top 5 talent in this league, the best big man in the game and a defensive force.  You can absolutely build a contender around his talents.   That's more than can be said about anyone on our squad...  Dwight took a terrible Orlando team to the finals.  Yes, I realize I'm being dramatic and it would be hard to put talent around him if we traded away all our assets, but the point is that franchise players aren't easy to come by.   It's either we tank for Andrew Wiggins or luck into a superstar.  Hate Dwight, but I'd learn to love him in Green.  He's a punk, but he's a dominant punk when healthy.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Is better to have DH12 or Wilcox+Randolph+White?

that's a useless comparison, you will never get Dwight for Wilcox, Randolph, and White, or for their salaries combined plus draft picks.

I mean..Is better to get DH12 who is gonna play 40 min/game or having Wilcox+Randolph+White who stay all time on the bench and doing noting???

again, that's a useless comparison. Do you expect Dwight to sign for 2 million a year?

You wrong... Did not get my point. Better get 3 junk players or one great and having great roster.

Dwight is the best rebounder in the NBA,  you could sign dwight and have shav+white as his backups. There is not one NBA GM and quite frankly there would not be a single sane human that would take those 3 scrubs over Dwight Howard. He's still the recovering from his back issues and he's pretty much the best rebounder in the NBA with that bad back AND while sharing the paint with another 7 footer.

Dwight+ Rondo would be a force to be reckoned with, with a scoring 2 guard and Jeff Green, we'd be able to stretch the floor & run too. If Felton & Chandler can run a pick n roll that well imagine what Rondo + Dwight could do.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I would love to have Howard on this team. Him and Rondo together would almost be unstoppable. Never mind his issues in Orlando and LA. He's a great rebounder, shot blocker, a 3-time DPOY and that's what this team could really use. He would probably fit in better under Doc than D'Antoni as well.

He's been in the league for 9 seasons and he's been out of the 1st round 3 times, beyond the 2nd round twice. He's a great player but having him on your roster hardly makes you a contender.

The best time to claim the Celts can't build a contender around Rondo would have been before they'd done so.

D12 being top 5 player of the league? :o. He's not even on the MVP discussion this year.

Oh, all these issues are going to vanish?    I think they would still need a shooter to spread the floor when the alley opp isn't there.

My spidey senses are telling me that Dwight is headed to Houston next season. Anyway, my preference is still for Danny to try and team up Rondo up with DMC.
