I think some of us are grabbing for straws here. First, the comment on the article isn't even really about Ray. But 2, since we are talking about Ray I just wish you all would put yourselves in his shoes.
You came to Boston and were asked to be one of the guys. As time progressed, that role dramatically decreased, you won 1 ring your first year and every year after that, you stumbled. You were strictly a 3 point shooter while a guy like Rondo got to do whatever he wanted. As a vet, I'm sure that would rub you the wrong way. KG and PP have no issues because their role hasn't changed.
It's always going to be easier to play a different, lesser role for a different team (especially a reigning champ going for a repeat).
My point was not whether Ray has the right to whine or not. Yea, I think he's a coward. But people have left the Cs before because of these reasons. And if a guy like JET leaves and decides to not be classy and air Doc out, you all aren't going to listen because JET sucked while he was here. What I'm saying is maybe there's a bit of truth to the idea that Doc is waayyyy to specific and won't the group of guys he has, esp here, play free.
You all act like JET doesn't have a ring and didn't singlehandedly change at least 2 games against the Heat. Courtney Lee can do things and is a great complimentary player. Jeff Green had a poor start thanks to a number of things. How are you all going to feel if we trade Jeff, he becomes a #2 guy and ends up a contender for a scoring title? I totally think that's possible as well. As a person who WATCHES Jeff Green there are times where it just feels like he's stopping himself not because he wants to or is reserved, but because someone is telling him.
It's happened with Nate Robinson. Jermaine O'Neal has had flashes of greatness over in Phoenix (he had a handful of double doubles). Ray Allen ate Jason Terry OFF THE DRIBBLE in our 2nd to last game against the Heat. It's not like he was drilling 3s in his face. He took dude to the hole. Ryan Hollins has even had some stand out games. You all don't at least ever think about why that type of thing never really happened while these ppl were Celtics? Even when healthy?
