Before the season started most of use here, including myself thought that Terry was better at this point and time then Allen was now. We all turned out to be wrong. I don't put the blame for JT sucking to high heaven on Danny.

Just about everyone thought he JT pickup was a good one before the season started.
Peace through Tyranny

Well, hopefully this game one loss will get rid a few of the people like the OP who consistently have nothing positive to say and repeatedly bang the same drum of misery and doom over and over again. I think the forums will be a better place without your "contributions".

It's just 1 game and the first game of the playoffs.
Yes I'm mad that they lost, but I'm not throwing in the towel yet.

Boston fans shouldn't give up on this team so easilly.

Of all the teams, we probably match up better with the Knicks and Heat than anybody else.  They are both teams that are led by a dominant SG and SF (where AB and Green have been dominant defensively) and both teams that lack a real interior post presense.

Sure there was some ugly in this game, but you need to take the good from it too.

1. Jeff Green has proven he is quickly becoming our #1 scoring option, and that he can do it on the big stage on both ends of the floor - fantastic game.

2. Avery Bradley went back to his roots offensively - stopped taking so many jumpers and went back to cutting to the basket, which he does so well.  If he can score more consistently of efficient cuts like this, that's a good place to be.

3. Between Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Paul Pierce the defense we played on Carmello was phenomenal.  That was no fluke - each of those guys did a phenomenal job, and if we can continue to hound him like that we give ourselves a good chance.

4. AB played outstanding defense on JR Smith and really made him earn his points

5. Bass, Green and KG had 26 rebounds between them, and we didn't get outrebounded for the game.

6. We held the Knicks to < 90 points

We did a lot of good things out there, and that's why we gave ourselves a chance to win despite only three players in double figures, not a single field goal off the bench, and allowing the Knicks to get 15 steals.

If we lost this game by 20 in an embarassingly lobsided defeat then I would say this mood is warranted, but aside from Jeff Green we played probably the worst offensive game of the season and still had a chance to win on the road against a very good team.

This series is far from over. Remember that if we win game two we take homecourt advantage AND take the momentum going back to Boston.

The saying goes that a playoff series doesn't really start until one team beats the other team on their home floor.  I think that, keeping that adage in mind, this series will start for real on Tuesday.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

i am very disappointed we lost, bc i sincerely thought we would win today.  in hindsight, we really should have bc we played 3 great qtrs and played great defense for 4 qtrs.

our downfall was:
1. turnovers in the 4th
2. rebounding
3. our bench literally no showed.

i feel good moving forward bc we have time to make adjustments. i still think we can win this series.  if we win game two and tie it up heading back to boston, then i feel really good.

for those writing this team off bc of this game....dont let the door hit u on your way out.  go celts!

Might as well start discussing the draft and what old folks home we are putting Jason Terry in. He was 0-5. A guy we pay to score. 0-5. Nice one Danny, nice one.

Kenyon Martin 10pts, 9rbs 2blks. Shavlik Randolph DNP. Nice one Danny, nice one.

Thought we were better without Rondo? Did you watch the fourth quarter? Yeah, you can zip it now. That is what a fourth quarter in the playoffs looks like. Without a true point guard you are toast.

By every account we could have won this game. We played great defense on the road but as usual we can not score anymore when it counts.

Pierce and KG just do not have that ability to put a team on their backs anymore. Terry woke up old last offseason and Doc was fooled into thinking that Terry still had it. Jeff Green just does not have the killer instinct. I think he was 1-5 in the second half.

This was a nice run but it is time to move on. Today certainly proved it.

Uhmmm who are you?

didn't see any predictions of "Knicks in 1"

Think I'll wait until a team has won 4 games

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
This team has been awful on the road the whole year, so I expected them to go down 0-2 to start the series.

This game was only troubling to me because we were unable to execute against the Knicks when they put the clamps on defensively (late).

However, the goal when you start on the road is to always at least split the first two games. If we can do that I think we win the series.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
