I wanted to believe this game would be close but unfortunately this result isn't that surprising.  You take a young team that hasn't played a Game 7 yet and put them on the road against a veteran, championship proven team full of veterans who have gone the distance and you should pretty much expect the veteran team to run circles around the young guys.

Love it.   Miami toyed with them like they did with us last year. Clearly a team with an on/off switch.

Looking forward to Miami vs San Antonio.  That should be an excellent series.

Who knew that the closest sporting event on TV tonight wouldn't be Bruins/Pens or Heat/Pacers but Daniel Brien vs Ryback on WWE?

Yep.  Miami will have to keep that switch "on" against the Spurs if they want to win.  Will be interesting to see if they can do it.


Honestly, I'm actually glad the Heat won.  The Finals will be much more exciting now.

The Heat just wanted it more tonight. They played with a lot of heart out there tonight and although I hate them, I gotta give them props.

I really love that in the NBA, the best of the best always makes it to the big dance.  You don't get stuck with Memphis vs Atlanta... You get champion vs champion.   If you have a superstar and a solid supporting cast, few teams can stop you.  I love that the integrity and the quality of the game remains unsullied by underdog Cinderella teams and parity.   In the NBA, you always know who is king.  I love that.

Right now this is Lebron's league.  But I'll equally enjoy seeing Tim Duncan get ring #5 and takin the "best of his generation" title from Kobe.

At the end of the day, it's really hard to go to the Finals when your offense is as weak as the Pacers' offense.

The Celtics had the same issue last year.

Eh . . . I have no problem with underdogs or there being parity, so long as it doesn't come at the expense of good play.

In March Madness, there's "parity" because it's so random with everything being single elimination.

If a team like the Pacers goes on a nice run in the post-season to get to the Finals, or even a title, that's exciting, especially if it comes at the expense of superteams like the Heat.

But you're right that in the NBA, you can be pretty sure the best team won 99% of the time. 

I do think the league could take some steps to make things more even.  I don't agree that having most of the top talent concentrated in 5-10 teams is good for the league.

I think they're better off with George at SF, so they should trade Granger.  Ideally to get some bench depth.  The Pacers' bench was ATROCIOUS this year and was a huge part of why they ultimately fell short.  If they had a more capable bench they might have gone to the Finals.
