i just saw a few games involving Adreian Payne at the tail end of this year and color me impressed. Agressive, intense, an athelte. Plays like Shawn Kemp.  Other than monster dunks and putbacks, also has a realiable jump shot (80 percent ft), and developing handles.  Reading some other draft pages, they claim he has mediocre iq and motor is questionable. But if you saw the last two weeks of the regular season and MM, you see a guy on the verge of burning out bc his motor was high all the time.

So the thing is this. Danny will pick from 16-18. If he has say a Miles Plumlee on his mind, wouldn't it be better to trade the pick, if plumlee is gone, and grab OKC's late 1st and 1 2nd round pick?? Then grab Payne with one of the picks and another decent talent with the other??

Same , if Danny wants Olynyk. Instead grab Muscala and grab someone else to help out the team.

Payne vs Plumlee
Muscala vs Olynyk

seem like the same kind of players with same kind of issues.  But Payne and Muscala are 2nd round bound guys, who look like they have more potential or polish vs their 1st round comparisons.

Dieng had probably one of his worse games this year. Just looked too passive out there, shot the ball only once, 6 rebounds and got into foul trouble early.

Dieng is quick and athletic but not fluid. There is also a sec of thought before move.

With more strength better suited as a center.

Since we have sully playing the center spot, not really sure how these two guys would coexist on the court if Dieng was drafted. Last time i can remember two centers that started games were duncan and robinson. But these guys were special players of course.

Bc of this i can see Danny liking a guy like Payne more. You get size, shot blocking, rebounding help, above the rim play, and speed to help with weakside defense.

If Sully's our center, I'd be pretty worried right now.

He is. He is not a modern pf. Just doesn't have the quickess. But has enough strength, length to be able to hold his own against nba centers.

you mean like a gortat or somebody from the draft??

Because in this draft within the lotto , the only guys many see succeeding in the nba are Noel and Len. Odds are not in favour of guys like Zeller, olynyk, plumlee to be quality nba starters

Payne clips again. Jeff Green would be proud

** payne apparently has a lung condition. It's small for his body size. Maybe thats why his motor is questioned.
