1 on a scale of 1 to 10 according to Glenn Rivers.

Maybe he just bases his diagnoses on wishes? Still makes me want to throw up every time he opens his mouth on an injury.

I thought he gave the adductor strain a "1" - you read something specifically about the ankle?

I agree that Doc has seemed pretty inaccurate over the last few years. I don't think it's deceptive, though. I just think his honest opinions have turned out to be wrong. As he says himself, Doc is just a nickname.

I'm not trying to be a downer, just realistic: Even if KG's current malady is "nothing serious"—and if you or I can even believe such a statement from the team anymore—we'll be going into the postseason, mere weeks from now, with no Rondo, no Sully, a dinged-up Pierce, a dinged-up KG, no one shooting particularly well from the perimeter, and a team that has been maddening, just plain maddening, in its performance this season. Not to mention that this team will be playing the majority of its playoff games on the road, where it sucks. Not a recipe for success.

I want to enjoy the ride as much as I can, enjoy watching KG and Pierce especially, and I'm grateful for the last 6 seasons, but let's face it, this team has had almost no good fortune since KG's knee, and it will be fortunate to get out of the first round this postseason—and it will probably take it 7 games just to do that, because that's just how it goes with this team. We should all start preparing ourselves for The End.

Really makes you glad they didn't / couldn't blow it up at the deadline, huh?

I can't help but laugh now when I think of people talking about how they just wanted to keep watching the old guys play their last games.  Winning some games is better than tanking!  Don't blow it up!  Winning a championship isn't everything, we can still have a respectable season?

This is pretty much what I was expecting all along.  The injuries are too much, and the roster is too disjointed and flawed, too reliant on a couple of guys in their mid-30s to carry 90% of the load.

What we get isn't pretty, or enjoyable to watch.  I'd prefer to see this team tanking out of the playoffs than limping their way into the slaughterhouse in the first round.

You know what I love about this?

When Rondo went down and we all said the team was playing better without him, all the Rondo lovers jumped up and down and cried that it had nothing to do with Rondo, and it was just because the new guys were playing better.

First thing people started saying is that we have a winning record in games KG has not played.

KG has missed 3-5 games now this season - would anybody care to point out what our record is in those games?

Don't quote me on this because I ahven't checked the stats exactly, but if my memory serves me well I believe we have one ONE game this season without KG...and that was a game in which Jeff Green exploded for > 30 points in KG's place.

So to all of those who were questioning KG's importance to this team...take a good look.

Anything is better than underachieving and lack of effort. They have 4 losses to the last place teams in each conference.

If KG goes, I would bet so does PP, he has already stated he wants no part of a rebuild.  Perhaps we could trade him but I 'd rather is he retired in green.  But if he goes to another team best to get something in return rather than let him walk.

Who ever questioned KG's importance to the team?

Many Rondo-worshippers here insist Rondo is the most important player in this team, and when people made a note of our record without Rondo (and hence suggesting he is not our most important player) the first thing they did is start suggesting that we have had similar success in games without KG.

I think out of all the games we have played this season without either KG or Pierce, we have lost all but one of them.

Many people criticise these guys for being too old and underestimate their importance, but without either KG or Pierce his is a lottery team...with or without Rondo.

I read (separately) both ankle and foot for KG last night.  More inaccuracy or multiple injuries?  I don't know.  But I guess we can assume it is lower body-related.

The thing is that I believe DA did try to blow it up but the Clippers Mngt was probably afraid of just this type of thing happening so wouldn't really give it up for KG.

This team is in trouble if both KG and PP are not healthy and playing well.  Even without RR, we can make noise in the playoffs with KG and PP but healthy and playing well (not exhausted) are big "ifs".

At the beginning of the season, RR was putting up huge numbers but we were still losing because PP and KG were playing old.  Then we had a great stretch where PP and KG along with several role players were all clicking and we started winning and beating good teams, even without Rondo.

Now we don't have Rondo or Sully or Barbosa and KG and PP are playing old again (at least on the road) or even worse, KG may not be just old but actually injured.  The result is we are playing like a lottery team.

Our margin is razor thin.  We may still be OK but it all depends on KG and PP.

I'd be fine with tanking if there were a clear organizational plan to do just that.  But they didn't make any -- ANY -- moves at the deadline to unload future salary, and the only future asset they gained was Jordan Crawford.

What we have right now is either a half-[donkey]ed attempt at tanking, or a half-[donkey]ed attempt at winning.

Either way, we're just watching them half-[donkey] it.

I think that's because they're pretty much guaranteed a spot, but no home court, for the playoffs.  So now playing to best prepare for the playoffs, rather than simply maximize regular-season wins, is best both for their posts-season competitiveness and their draft pick for next year.

So, when do we hear the results of the MRI? The longer we wait, the more I get worried.
