AFC is a total crapshoot right now.  Each contender or semi-contender has a major flaw.  It's almost setting up as to see which team will get pounded by Seattle in the Super Bowl.  Although, still a lot of football to be played between now & the first week of Feb.

Pats got beat by a team playing their Super Bowl yesterday.  They just didn't excute in situations that they needed to.  I hated the settling for FGs in the red zone.  They have to punch one of those in.  That one 3rd & 2 near the start of the 4th drove me nuts.  Pass attempt to Vereen just after Blount had gashed them.  7 would've been huge in that situation.   The missed FG was just pushed by Gostkowski.  Had plenty of leg.  You convert that, you don't even have to go for a TD at the end of the game.

Will say that was a ballsy move by Philbin on 4th & 5.  They had all 3 timeouts remaining plus the two minute warning.  Figured they were gonna punt there.

Pats D is really missing Mayo & Wilfork.  It showed big time yesterday.  Then you got Gronk out on the offensive side.  You saw the gaping holes in the Pats yesterday.  Injuries have just ravaged that team.

Thought I'd bring up the Pats thread.   Miami loses giving the Pats the divison.  Slightly less needed win today -- but only slightly as the bye is essential.

Nice 1st quarter (so far) for a change.  Pats up 14 on a team that's struggled offensively.  Keep it up.

Hasn't hurt the Pats yet, but three very makeable interceptions missed in additional to the one they got.  Flacco bad knee is really impacting his performance.

Tough half for the C's but Pats still up 20-0 as Justin Tucker surprisingly finally misses -- from 37.

What's wrong with the Ravens' backup QB (and the whole Ravens brass)?!

You've already conceded the game by pulling Flacco -- save yourself the embarrassment (and your teammates -- the injuries) and take a knee instead of trying to chuck it downfield. Crazy stuff.

Logan Mankins helped off.  Looks like might be another big season-ending injury for this team.

Ankle. Thankfully he's back.

Wet field; injuries piling up.  Now Arrington.

I know no one is joining this so I'll throw out just one more post.
Pats running through the Bills all game and don't run it on 3rd and 2 with a chance to really use up clock with a 1st down.  I really hate that call in the midst of a downpour.   Thankfully Gostkowski is money.

Awesome day for Legarrette Blount, but some key injuries ... here's hoping all is well, especially Mankins. That would hurt.

I was going to say that our TEs will soon have to start lining up on defense, and then remembered we don't have any TEs, either. This is getting ridiculous.

Great Jackie Mac article on Edelman:

Its a good story on Edelman, the chip on his shoulder, and his fire and determination. Great stuff. Jackie's the best in the business.
