Ok, CC - good point.

I'll do you one better, though. Let me first preface this by stating that I firmly believe that Kobe Bryant is one of the GOATs...no question.

Even though I can't stand LA or him, I highly respect his talent, drive and winning ways.

He is, indeed - the closest thing to Jordan, IMO.

Now with THAT being said:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgkN0-bLrus

Tell me one good player who isn't dirty. You really can't (OK Durant maybe...) It's simply a facet of the sport. ??? I'd say he's nowhere near the "dirtiest player in the NBA" though.

I'm sorry, man....you won't find a clip with Russell, Michael, Magic, Larry..doing this stuff.

It's wrong, childish, smallish, lol - for Kobe to make  big deal about this.

Even Charles Barkley is saying it - on NBATV right now. How else do you expect someone to guard Kobe Bryant?

He sounds like a man who is perhaps seeing his "promise" slip away - to get his team to the playoffs.

I don't recall ANY Celtic that has ranted to the media about our injuries over the years...and if they did, they'd have enough material for a mini-series.

How often does Kobe complain about injuries? Almost never Last Night, imo ???

Fixed it for you.

Just wrong timing for Kobe to make a deal out of this. It just appears small, for him.

Injuries happen...players have been inadvertantly stepping on players' feet for ages, now...players have(and should have) the right to guard someone like Kobe.

He is not exclusive to being defended. He is already tough enough to stop as is, without the Officials giving him even MORE leeway.

Kobe Bean Bryant should be ashamed of himself.

Kobe complains about injuries and a perfectly legit rule once in, what, 10 years or something. I really see no problem with that.

The NBA already released an official statement saying, "Yes, it was a foul." There really is no argument to be held. Only Celtics fans would...

Well, I wish the NBA would do a "review" of that fourth quarter of the 2009-10 NBA Finals.....................

Please release an "Official" statement about that.

The 2009-10 NBA Finals was not last night. It really is irrelevant in this discussion.

Whatever, I'm done with this :)

Nothing dirty about this play. I agree that defenders going under the shooter should be a foul but I dont see Jones intentionally doing anything wrong on this particular play.

This is exactly how I feel. Jones was playing defense, put a hand in his face while Kobe kicked out. As a result, his left foot comes down in an awkward place which happens to be where Jones' foot was, I think it was a good no-call. Jones never looked at the ground, he watched the ball the whole time.

Had Kobe not kicked out, he probably would have came down safely with more than one foot to balance himself when he landed.
Take me where the Boston Celtics fans roam free without judgment from my enemies.

The league doesn't care if you think it's a no-call unfortunately and the league already said that it should have been a call after further review. Too bad the officials didn't see it ;D what a shame

HA because the NBA says something to protect a star its a fact?

Was Ibaka chopping Blake Griffin also totally fine to you?  Not worthy of an ejection and worth the same fine given to another player previously just for swearing at someone in the stands?

There was nothing wrong with this play.  I hate how when someone gets injured there has to be a foul or something dirty.  How is someone supposed to defend when someone can jump into the air and drift any which way?

Haha this was what I found the funniest. Headlines all over ESPN about Kobe's severely sprained ankle... I was like oh boy tough break for the Lakers... Then I watched the Jones play and saw Kobe up running around yelling at the officials... And I was like wait a second here... Somethings fishy.

You sound like a big kobe fan which is fine.

People are just pointing out that Kobe is a huge hypocrite which you can't deny. ItIt's hard to take him seriously when he has done this along with several other dirty things in his history.

He's a little cranky cause things are going peachey for him right now. I mean, my god its like he wants to get CSI on the case or something.

Do you remember when Channing Frye was complaining about KG doing this same thing? Probably not because it was Channing Frye!

Hitting a guy on the arm when he shoots is a foul whether you do it on purpose or not.  So is being under a player so he doesn't have room to land.

Under the rules, Jones fouled Kobe.  No two ways about it.  Somehow the Stern-mind controlled refs didn't call it despite their massive Laker bias, but that's a conspiracy to unravel later.  Only question is whether it was a dirty play or not, but there's no real argument whether it was a foul.

I do totally agree with everyone saying the "severe" injury is going to clear up real fast so the announcers can slobber over how tough Kobe is, though.  I'd be surprised if he wasn't back tonight.

LOL that's why i don't give a rat's butt abt this "whole NBA should be protecting the players thing" this happens a lot... Barbs got clotheslined which is dangerous.. but we don't hear that being sensationalized everywhere or Barbs complaining in the media...

Comments like this make me sick.  Regardless of what color jersey they wear, they are human beings.  Wishing ill on another is abhorrent to me.
