Poll

What do we do?

Waive him today
Sign him for the rest of the season today
Sign him to a second ten-day and waive him
Sign him to a second ten-day and then the rest of the season
Multi-year deal

If we decide to sign him until the end of the season a team option for the next year would be great, so that we could include them in a potential trade next year.

This.

Yeah, it's the smart thing to do.  Gives Ainge more flexibility.    Will make for a more interesting pre-draft period, and then later, if no trades happen around the draft, prior to the season.

Not sure what NBA minimum salary is these days, what, around 800K?  Between White and Williams, Ainge would have an additional 1.6M to play with in outgoing salary, and the receiving teams could cut these guys if they were in salary dumping mode.  Definitely seems like the way to go regarding signing the guy or not.  It's not like there's anybody much better out there to pick up anyway if we just dropped him .

Terrence Williams/Sean Williams style contract would be fine by me.

This is pretty much Jordan Crawford's deal too, right?  Good strategy.

I agree that DJ White just needs to be a solid big who can rebound and play some defense. With the 2nd year oprtion, you can also bring these guys to camp next year and especially for White you might develop him into a solid rotation young big with some upside.

Bradley, Sullinger, Crawford, White, Melo, Joseph ...some good young talent

Joseph isn't with us anymore. Nor on The Red Claws.
Plug in T-will then. My point is that Ainge has done a good job of reloading with young talent.

TBH, it isn't really young talent but border-line NBA players who have the potential (like anyone bar Jason Collins) to become a serviceable role player.
