I don't follow college ball.  Is everyone here underrating Nerlens Noel?  I just read he was considered the top pick in the draft before his torn ACL and even now he's expected to go in the Top 5.   18 years old... 6'10 228 freshman with a 7'4 wingspan... was averaging 11 points, 10 rebounds, 4.4 blocks and 2.1 steals while shooting 59% ... I unno... sounds like someone I'd love to have train under KG next year.  If he came back healthy, I can't see how he wouldn't be an immediate upgrade over Bass even at the age of 19.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'd trade Rondo for Zeller and a solid starting PG.

It's a much tougher question with Noel.  Ideally, we'd make another run with KG and Paul here.  Downgrading Rondo for no immediate help up front would be a tough pill.

I'd trade Rondo (even though I really, really don't want to) for a starting caliber PG and Alex Len instead of Cody Zeller.

The kid is longer, better defensive instincts and a developing post game. Zeller is solid, I think Len could be great.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

He is more slender than Jajuan Johnson and has little to no offensive game.

Zero jumpshot ability whatsoever.

So he's just someone who is defensively dominant?  The scouting report I just read on him said he was (pre-injury, obviously) more explosive and more dominant defensively than even Anthony Davis.

Freakish athleticism. You could say he is a raw, poor-man's Anthony Davis without the offensive game.

I personally think with that physique and a lack of creativity offensively he will get pushed around by bigger bodies on both ends.

I'd love to have that kid train with KG for a year or two.  Having another potentially dominant defensive big man with superstar potential sounds wonderful to me.

But yeah... it would be a considerable risk.  Anyone trading for Rondo at this point would be taking on considerable risk as well.  And someone else would need to be included to make the salaries match.

He has elite athleticism and shot blocking ability. I'd say it would be tough to get him. Stranger things have happened though. I thought we had no chance at all to net someone like sullinger, yet here we are. Sullinger could very well be a better player than someone like Noel.

Yeah I don't care if he stinks offensively... so does Rondo.  If my choices are big man with elite defense or little man with elite assist-generating... I take the big man every time.

Lot easier to build around an 18 year old big man on his rookie contract than a 27 year old little man making 12 mil a year.

I wouldn't trade Rondo for Noel straight up, but if the other team throws in an unprotected 2014 1st (or gives the option to flip picks), I'd be all over that.
