This was said to be a weak draft. But I see a lot of bigs coming out. I'm looking at our roster and I believe we are set on Guards. I understand that we should draft BPA but I believe we have the roster to get Jordan Crawford to develop into a, at best a very good 6th man. Rondo is coming back, along with Lee and Terry so we're set on PG's. We have Sully and Bass at PF and to some extent KG, so our glaring need is a another Center and a SF.
I'm looking at a ton of mock drafts and most of them have CJ McCollum as our pick. I like his game, but I don't think he will help us next year or the coming years. NBADRAFTNET has Kelly Olynyk, and he's a big we could use.
IMO I think we would be better if we pick big. We're not sure how far long Melo would take to be ready. I would either draft Kelly Olynyk or Jeff Whitey. Olynyk for his offense, mobility and inside game, Whitey for his shot blocking presence, toughness and hustle. Either one would help us (how big or small the help is TBA) if we keep our roster intact. If we're not going big, then another 3 is the one I would go. James Michael McAdoo or LeBryan Nash.
I like LeBryan Nash.
From everything I have read (his name on the mock draft link) he projects as a hybrid combination of Lebron James, Steve Nash, and Kobe Bryant
From what I've watched, he's not that good.
LeBryan Nash isn't playing on par with the hype he got. But he has the tools (I mean THE TOOLS) to develop into a very good to great player. His athleticism is off the charts. His potential is up there, it's a matter of getting him into the right situation, and I believe the Celtics have that.
McAdoo has the same physical and athletic tools. He's also a better shooter but his speed is a question. He maybe a little slower as a 3, but small at the 4. Either way, too have the necessary tools to be a productive player on both ends.
So to me, it's either Olynyk, Whithey, Nash or McAdoo. In that order.
