I like LeBryan Nash.

From everything I have read (his name on the mock draft link) he projects as a hybrid combination of Lebron James, Steve Nash, and Kobe Bryant

Agreed. ;D

I wouldn't take McAdoo expecting a positive defensive presence.  He isn't one at UNC anyway.  I'm not sure there is a college player who gets less out of his physical tools on that end of the floor.  For a guy with very good agility, hops and pretty long arms, he blocks a stunningly low number of shots.  I find his post defense baffling.  Someone must have taught him the Euro-style of post defense where you just put your arms up as high as you can and make the guy shoot over you.  McAdoo doesn't deviate at all from that strict principle and the usual result is guys just shooting over him successfully.  Why he doesn't even bunny hop to challenge a shot is beyond me.

In theory, McAdoo should be someone you can switch onto smaller guys and not get killed.  I don't see it however.  He's no Taj Gibson.  McAdoo also has a tendency to gamble for steals 25 plus feet from the basket.  I can't imagine his future NBA coach is going to condone that.

Yea I was a big fan of Mcadoo last year but I've seen no improvements this season. I believe he has regressed if anything

Olynyk has terrible footwork.  he'll get called for a travel every game and will get blocked like crazy.  Wouldnt mind developing Mouhammadou Jaiteh alongside melo to sure up future center spots or a cory Jefferson from baylor for that matter.

Come on. There's no such thing as traveling any more. If anything, they call it more in college.

Mouhammadou Jaiteh?? Had to google that. An 18-year old playing in the 2nd-tier French league. Um, ok, but we're talking about pick 17... this year...

I watched KG and pierce get called for travels this year.  Do you think a rookie is gonna get away with it?  Say he does, there's no way he's gettin to the rim in the post, he's too uncoordinated.  Jaiteh would be avilable this year and would be a good development project with Melo until KG retires.  Now if we pick up Olynyk then fine, but he's gonna have to work on the footwork to adapt to the nba.  Not the worst pick I suppose at 17.  He does seem to have a big build which could help.

This is a fair point, but I think we're talking about two different kinds of traveling. What does get called is (1) baby stepping or dragging your pivot around prior to the dribble and (2) hop-stepping into your dribble.

What I think you're seeing a lot of in the video is three (or four) -step driving. That's what you don't see called much any more. Agree?

I would prly wanna trade down with Cleveland or OKC for a late first and early 2nd if possible....then 3 guys i like there are Lucas Nogueira and Trevor Mbakwe and Lorenzo Brown.
Brown might be nice to backup bradley and Mbakwe is a shorter KG ......poorman KG but i love his intensity

BUT the guy i like right now is:

Lucas Nogueira: 7ft from Brazil, I'd stash him on the redclaws with melo and let them develop into the brazillian towers

What about this guy for our second round pick??

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/46309/mike-muscala

Thoughts??

Is anyone familiar with him?

Thanks,

Smitty77

In the same boat with Olynyk it seems. Tearing up weaker competition. Great numbers, but not considered athletic enough for the NBA.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

The problem with the Brazilian towers idea is that neither project to ever be good offensive player

It's actually true.

He has LeBron's physical tools, Kobe's scoring mentality and Nash's lack of commitment on playing defense.

The problem with the Brazilian towers idea is that neither project to ever be good offensive player

"Strengths: An athletic specimen ... Shows tremendous length and great balance ... Runs the floor like a deer, makes quick moves. Can change directions quickly. Very springy ... A big time shot blocker using his length and leaping ability to be an eraser around the basket ... Excellent on the break where he uses his tremendous fluidity and speed to convert dunks ... Shows some offensive ability with a solid shooting touch and ability to knock down free throws ... Tremendous rebounder. Shows good hands."

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/lucas-nogueira

What I like that is mentioned "eraser around the basket", "excellent on the break", "speed to convert dunks" , "some offensive ability with a solid shooting touch and ability to knock down free throws ... Tremendous rebounder. Shows good hands."

add all that up and he MAY be the perfect center for Rondo! if he develops into that center you start rondo, bradley, green, sully, and Lucas with Fab off the bench......that team needs a shooter but 2 yrs from now and that team COULD be really good

Rumor is we're taking a hard look at this guy:

I guess Austin is scouting him hard and he may already have a promise.

I've heard the Brazilian is lazy and a pain in the rear end. That's the knock on him..

As long as we go with a center I'm happy.

I'm a fan of Olynyk, he uses his body well to create seals so he can get the ball or his teammates can get to the hole. He is not a great defender now but I think he could learn to be a decent one.

I also would like Dieng, WIthey, Austin or one of the foriegn bigs. We have depth at every position save for the five. With Kg's career winding down I would love to get a starting caliber center in this year's draft.
