Credit and major props to Mark Jackson and Vinny Del Negro.  Two coaches whose heads were clearly on the chopping block last year - but two outstanding coaches this year, and proving all the naysayers wrong.

I am extremely impressed with how much Mark Jackson is getting out of their young players. Just with how their young players compete and play with discipline and intelligence.

It's terrific.

On the (sort of) brightside, there isn't much competition for that 8th seed.

So they should be pretty safe for a playoff appearance even if this rut carries on for awhile.

yeah so the heat can destroy us in 4 straight.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I have a question for you guys :

Is Golden State a legit team?

Could they make noise in the playoffs?

if they play against the celtics they can.  >:(
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

They should go to Sullinger in the post a lot more in the 2nd half, play inside out offense and slow the game down.
no way doc's abandoning his favorite iso plays for effective plays. change is not in his arsenal.

but, but, but i read here all the time doc is  GREAT coach.

Lies.

I think people have heard it so much from others that they had no choice but to believe it.

I, myself, am guilty of this. Everyone says Doc is great so it MUST be true right?

Doc is barely an average coach who happens to have great player relations. He really got exposed when Thibs and Frank left.

KG is not Kobe.  He doesn't complain about coaches.  He respects Doc and follows along.  The man was like Iverson in his prime: he almost never left games.  From what I can infer, he loves to play.  You think he wants to sit after playing the first 4.5 minutes?

No, sorry, I did not mean to imply KG would Kobe to the media. He definitely would not. But he would tell Doc he wants to play and he would not look so calm when he comes off the court. Doc, I believe 100%, would let KG play if KG demanded to play. The only way I see KG losing that argument is if he is injured. But if KG ran off the court and said to Doc, "Coach, Im feeling it tonight, let me play" I guarantee Doc would get him back in quickly.

Really, that's what you're going on?  You're guessing that KG would implore Doc. Actually, how do you know he hasn't and Doc declined?

I don't know that anymore than you know he has. I am speculating, which is a common blog activity. KG is a fighter and I simply do not believe with the Celtics struggling he would just placidly sit on the bench like a puppy cause "Doc told me to." I also do not believe Doc would insist on it without KG's acceptance. That three year deal was specialized - KG's words - to allow him to return.

We are both speculating on what goes on between Doc and KG. I would not be surprised if either of us are wrong...ok I would be a little surprised if I am only because of KG's character. But if he is complaining to Doc, asking to play and being denied, then I will agree that Doc is an idiot. Seems highly unlikely to me that conversation is happening.

Whatever dude.  You're making too assumptions.  Yes, that's a blog activity but you're treating it like it's fact.  You answered criticism about KG's minute pattern with ridiculous assertions that you knew that KG had to devise part of it with no foolproof evidence.  Whatever.

Sorry I upset you. I didn't know I need to have a notary public involved in my posts. I said, pretty clearly, it was speculation. I did not ever claim I had some inside scoop. It was on public airwaves. You might want to learn the art of conversation instead of the art of flaming anyone who has a different thought than you.

I'm flaming you?  You can disagree with me about hating KG's minutes pattern.  That's fine.  Just don't state that you know what KG's thinking.  I actually think you're pretty ridiculous to be honest.

I never said I knew what he was thinking. I was SPECULATING as I said. Give it and me a rest pal. This blog is turning into garbage because you cannot disagree without being tanked. For the record:

1. I think Doc is a great coach
2. I think KG is in agreement with the minutes he plays
3. I think Ainge knows he needs to do something and is working on it.
4. I think our bench is hardly great, but getting them in the game is smart, not dumb.

Please make a note of the word "think" in each of those statement. Nowhere do I claim insider knowledge or some NBA-savant insight. I am a Celtics fan and I know a lot about this game and some of these players. You can disagree with me - and I welcome it - since that is why we are on this blog to begin with.

Why, someone tell me, does it ALWAYS have to end up nasty?

This is what you wrote initially:

KG had to be talked into returning this year and the minutes are in large part his idea.

Nowhere do I see the words, "I think."  You're stating it as fact, as an insider to KG's inner circle and the Celtics organization, that KG came up with this 5x5 idea. It is not a fact that you know.  Go on, keep making stuff up.

unfortunately I'm sure that's what most of the players are thinking too. They can coast and still get the 8th seed.

I love pierce. Not tonight though.

I like passing Pierce not ball hog Pierce.

Agreed. I was expecting Paul to rack up some assists with Rondo out. Instead, he's been forcing shots at a miserable clip. Hopefully he gets it come second half.
dats my thing ima huge Pierce fan but dude was slam forcin it in da 1st half garbage shot selection
