Seems like a rather large extension for a guy that is always injured.

Seems like a rather large extension for a guy that is always injured.

And yet it seems like a rather small extension for a guy who was being billed as one of the best guards in the league after his first two seasons.

So, when you combine the two, it evens itself out.

Could be worse - Eric Gordon is still out indefinitely after signing his 4 year $58 million extension.

Risky but potentially a steal if Steph Curry can stay healthy.

That's how I see it too.  High risk but potential for high reward (from an economice standpoint).  I think its worth.  Certainly not as headscratching as some of the other contracts out there right now.

They already have so many injury prone players with big contracts, they can't afford another one, and it isn't like if everyone stays healthy they are a real contender.  They should have just taken the risk with Curry and seen where he was at the end of the year or traded him.  Just too much risk for that franchise in its current situation.

Obviously not too much risk for the franchise since they just signed off on the contract.

Pretty bad contract.

At his best Steph Curry shouldn't be making much more than that

A worthy risk given Curry's youth and tremendous offensive skill - even if he continues to struggle with injuries, I don't think he'll be immovable with his potential.  Makes Lawson's deal look that much more pricy to me.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

He's injured often, but the guy is an incredible shooter.  If he's healthy this year, he's going to have a MASSIVE season without Ellis hogging the ball... that contract will look like a steal.

Yeah that's my thought as well, a bargain if he's on the court playing like we all think he can.

Really?

What the heck happend to his knee? Did the spray cream cheese in the incision after they cut it open? You don't have a "bruised knee" that keeps you out all season.

That Chris Paul trade looks better and better all the time.

Last year I thought Gordon was just kinda milking it because he was ticked at being traded to a lousy team and didn't want to hurt his value.  I had the displeasure of watching him sleepwalk through his last college game so it seemed to fit.

But yeah, this would have to be serious and if there's no structural damage, I have no idea what's up.  Even a serious, deep bone bruise shouldn't last this long.  Maybe they botched the initial surgery?
