I don't think barbosa is as similar to Terry as some might think. Barbosa is more of a slasher and he uses his speed to score. Terry uses more of the pick and pop and his lethal jumpshot to score. Even if he isn't much of a facililatator, I think Barbosa helps Terry play off the ball more, which is what Terry likes to do. I don't see Leo getting much time once Avery comes back, but this was a FANTASTIC depth signing.

Just think, Wilcox and Barbosa are our 11th and 12th men.

THAT'S INSANE!

Perfect combination between youth and veteran. Speed. Check. Scoring. Check. We are finding some [dang] good bargains between Collins, Darko, Barbosa, Wilcox (if healthy) and so on. This is sound shopping.

my guess is they made a run at Pietrus but he wanted more than they could offer. Then they moved on to Barbosa...Whatever the reason...Doc wants really scoring off the bench this season...where he can rest his horses...
I don't think so. They need someone who can handle the ball.

Yeah.  In my mind, Collins is he only one of those guys who is a "minimum-level" player.  I guess Wilcox, too, due to the health stuff.  Still, he's about the same player that Danny gave $3 million to last off-season.

Who else is happy we didn't do any JO-type deals!?

Not sure what you mean. We've still signed players who were available because of health issue concerns (Barbosa and Wilcox).

Might as well throw in Green as well.

Teams do not know they have a JO deal until it happens.

I guess that's true. I was just saying how we didn't throw a lot of money at an injured player. Barbosa and Wilcox didn't get paid a lot. I just forgot about Green. He looks good in preseason, though, so I have high hopes.

Was reading earlier saying that we need to wait till Both Smith and Christmas cleared waviers then we could sign him. Probably something close to this evening you'll hear it is offical. Gotta say I am glad we signed him. Good player to have.

Pretty sweet that we were priced out of Delfino who at least Doc seemed to be high on and end up with Barbosa who I prefer anyway

Ahh ok makes sense, really happy we got him as well. Did anybody see him during the Olympics he looked pretty good.

Yes, he was lighting it up... if he had any help they would've been quite good! He looked like he was happy (dude was blazing)... I think the happier you are (probably b/c he was the star), the better you play... also b/c there was no language barrier, as others have stated.

I think we'll be seeing less of Rondo through the season (which is good)
I'd like to see Rondo down around 34mpg during the regular season.
I'd *like* to see him down to 30 mpg during the regular season...and both Pierce and KG in the middle 20's, and if the team can win with that happening, I hope Doc will do it.

It seems to me that the goal is to get the stars to the playoffs healthy and rested while still winning a goodly number of games.  Pierce has Green to soak up a lot of minutes...we *know* Paul can still take over games from time to time, and those times are when he is healthy and rested. KG is the engine that makes the C's defense go, and we want him playing 40+ minutes a game IN THE PLAYOFFS, so keep him well rested throughout the regular season.  Rondo is the offensive engine and we want him playing 40+ minutes in the playoffs, too, so let's keep him well rested as well.

Rondo, Barbosa, Terry, Lee and Bradley means none of them have to play a lot of minutes in the regular season. During the playoffs, Rondo and Bradley (or Lee if he beats Avery out) play big minutes and Barbosa/Terry/(Lee or Avery) play spot minutes performing their specialties...oh something like: slasher, pick and pop artist, corner three assassin, backdoor cut king.
